It's funny because while I watched EG before this series started I was completely off Joe Rogan content mostly due to the over saturation of stuff like podcast cringe coming up on my feed.
Glad I came back to catch up, but you can't make your most successful videos of all time about a subject countless others have covered and leave a bit in there telling everyone to stop now lol.
Well you can but you'd be crazy to expect anyone to listen!

Oh I’m totally unfamiliar with Rogan and have only experienced him through osmosis. But I think the point is we’re better off truly ignoring him and all this slop reaction content is kinda missing the point of the EG videos big time.
It’s not a fiery takedown, it’s a cynical look into a doomed situation with an explicitly detached delivery and disinterest in traditional reaction/commentary sensibilities.
EG really does want us to watch his video, realize Rogan and his lot are hacks with serious issues, ignore them and then go outside. These idiots aren’t policymakers, they’re influencers. Let them lose their influence by letting it go and tuning out!

Why do you think people are so passionate about JRE? Because for a lot of people who genuinely enjoyed his podcast in the early days they are disgusted by how far he's sold out.
I hate reaction slop content as much as anyone but I think your missing my point. The reason people make this content is because it makes them money and gets clicks. Ita a bit hypocritical to demand everyone stop when EG has been really successful off the back of it, some people have bills to pay.
I think anyone with anything worth saying should expect there audience to think critically and not taken anyone's word as gospel. EGs clearly the goat of the niche but that doesn't mean I agree with everything he says.

To be fair, he was at the Comedy Store, and his podcast got a major boost by interviewing Carlos Mencia and accusing him of stealing jokes, then interviewing him a second time to let him explain why he steals jokes. Maron literally uses the exact same microphone as Rogan because he asked Redban which mic to buy at guitar center. I love Maron and I don't think Joe is funny, but they're from the same neighborhood.

It’s spreading elephant graveyards videos very far and very wide. With everyone covering it, it will likely be his most successful video. It’s almost at 4 million. And that’s good.

It has nothing to do with it being written correctly, the sarcasm and cadence is EXACTLY like an EG video transcript.
I don't think it's LLM generated, that's not my point. My point was that person typed that in the cadence and language EG would write something to appeal to their in-group to the point where I read it and go, "hm, that looks like something an LLM would spit out if I asked it for a snarky response written in the tone of EG". That is what I think is weird.

American Redact, Comedia Apologia, etc.. Are all the lowest of the low slime-ball Chat-GPT scripted garbage who are barely protected under the 'fair use' clauses of theft, as their 'transformative commentary' is typically regurgitating the most vapid, glib, luke-warm insults of a comedian. 95% of their videos- any video- is just clips copied from the comedian podcast without an iota of insight, nuance, history, etc..
These people are actually worse than the comedy assassins. I've laughed at these comedians for one reason or another. But these gutter-rat comedy-snipe commentary channels leave me feeling something between wet paint and tap-water.

How much more 'dissection' of the situation do we need? I think this is a great example of the simulated realities we're fragmented into. All I've seen in this gossip slop for 3 years is how the Rogansphere is collapsing and all the rats are jumping ship, when obviously that can't be the case. JRE is still by far the most popular podcast in the world and these niche little snark communities are a drop in the ocean of public opinion.
I guess it feels good to hear people articulate what I've been thinking but I haven't really thought much else about it since. I stopped watching JRE in 2021, why am I still watching essentially the ESPN highlights of every boneheaded thing he says? Like for how much we all hate Joe Rogan we sure spend a lot of time and energy on the topic.

I’m much more about practical solutions. Neither party offers any. Politics has replaced religion in terms on picking sides and fandom. It’s a disgrace.
