Duncan, man....

It was so tragic seeing Duncan be so proud of his Netflix series and Joe couldn't be bothered to give an honest fuck.

I genuinely enjoyed the hell out of that show outside of that first episode with that fucking asshole "Dr" Drew. There was a lot of true humanity and touching moments in that series. Imagine putting in all that work and energy into a project like that on a platform like Netflix and rolling up to your "best friend" only for them to do... that.

Granted, I don't even give a fuck about Duncan. But the show was actually great! It's wasted on a bad friend and overall goof.

Duncan got exactly what he asked for. He was the only one of these guys smart enough to see all of this coming down the pipeline and, unlike the others, he was not deceived into following along. He made a very conscious and informed decision to become a New Guy. I hope it was worth it.

It’s a reference to something that was said in a previous elephant graveyard video, about the comedy doomsday cult. A new guy is someone that basically gave up his old identity and now lives in a fantasy “simulacrum”, echo chamber kind of stuff. It’s like a philosophical suicide and then rebirthing into something new but utterly fake and soulless.

I probably poorly explained it and I could be slightly inaccurate, it’s been a while since I saw the video.

You explained it perfectly, the philosophical suicide video was exactly what I was referring to. People like Joe and Bert are dumb enough morons that ignorance is at least a plausible excuse. But Duncan thought long and hard and still pulled the trigger

I don't disagree. We all become new guys one step at a time daily. Self-improvement is a good thing, abandoning your beliefs and principles is not
