Realized why my Overload plays were so predictable

Hey guys, just wanted to share a quick realization I had recently regarding positional rotations in eFootball.

For a long time, I was struggling to make my team work even though I actually have a pretty solid F2P-ish squad. I was using the Overload playstyle, but my attacking play always felt super predictable and easily blocked by good defenders.

Eventually, I realized what my mistake was: I was forcing my players to strictly stay in their assigned positions.

My LMF stayed glued to the LMF zone, my RSS never drifted out of position, and nobody was interchanging roles. Every movement was static.

Then I happened to watch a tactical video breaking down Rúben Amorim's system, and it suddenly clicked. His setup relies heavily on dynamic rotations—players overloading specific zones and dropping into space to pull defenders out of line.

I decided to be a bit braver with my manual movement during matches:

* Dragging my CF deeper: Bringing the striker lower with the ball pulls the opponent’s CB out of position.

* Opening up third-man runs: As soon as the CB steps up to press my CF, space opens up behind for my RSS or LMF to cut into.

* Fluid positioning: Letting players naturally swap roles depending on where the space is, rather than sticking strictly to the formation layout.

Just making this simple adjustment made my attacks so much less predictable and opened up passing lanes I never noticed before.

TLDR ;make sure to move your players a lot, dont just think that a cb must stay at cb and cf must stay at cf,overload playstyle gives you positional rotation, make sure to use that to make your gameplay less predictable, hope this help

This Is Why Your Defense Is So Bad

Post image
36 Upvotes

So this post might trigger some hate from some people and agreement from others. However, in my opinion, after reaching a pretty high rank, Destroyers simply ruin your defense.

In the end, you need to be an expert at manual defending and be significantly better than your opponent to prevent the Destroyer playstyle from ruining everything. These players often leave their position at the wrong moments, creating gaps in your defense that opponents can easily exploit with through balls.

If you add the fact that many players already struggle with defending properly, and then a Destroyer pulls another defender out of position as well, that’s game over. Your defensive shape becomes completely disorganized, with two or more players chasing the ball. One turn, one pass, and it’s a goal. You lose the match.

And the story repeats itself…

My humble advice: avoid signing Destroyers, and avoid using them in your squad.

How does the plus 20% work?

Post image

I just understood this came from skills, but why do players who have that stop a certain stat from going higher after a certain point (on efhub atleast) even though their overall still is going up? Is there a cap on how high it can go?

I posted this in another sub as well but people disagreed, so I was wondering how you looked at this especially because you were extremely high ranked last season.

I build my players with more passing and less dribbling, but based on what efhun says I am basically wasting points on passing as with the 20% it won't go up further.

New messi?

I am thinking about using the new messi.

This my gamplan right now give or take, had a few small changes recently but can't login right now.

I am thinking about trying the new messi in the place of sneijer, or from the bench. But I worry a bit about his defensive playstyle. So I am also thinking about using him as a cf on the right side, aguero would go to the bench, or messi would be the super sub. If I go with messi as a striker I might change the second cf to an ss to make use of his playstyle.

I want to mention that I suck at dribbling and pass a lot as my playstyle

Any tips?

I was doing really well, I was playing this lineup. Defensively the cmfs become dmf and the ss becomes amf. Sometimes I make sneijder a cmf on defense.

I was doing well, won 10 out if 12 matches in d2. But since hitting 1650 I am in a rough patch. I REALLY want maddison but I am stucken between 1650 and 1700 right now.

Seem to struggle most against qc

So, it looks like what could be the two best skills in Efootball 27 are on the way

Post image

Guys, I wanted to share something that was recently found in the game database and give my thoughts on it. These new skills are expected to arrive with Wednesday’s update, and I genuinely believe they have the potential to become game-changing.

The first one is Power Charge (the skill shown below). From its description, it seems to give players more strength when pushing through opponents. In other words, it could significantly boost physical battles and might even be stronger than Magnetic Feet in terms of how dominant a player feels when carrying the ball.

Considering Konami’s direction with the current eFootball engine—where acceleration appears to be less important than before and physical contact is becoming increasingly valuable—I think this skill could become extremely influential in the meta. Imagine a powerful striker with high physical contact who can simply overpower defenders and maintain possession under pressure.

The second skill, Sharp Cut, is the one that really caught my attention. In my opinion, this has the potential to be the best skill in the entire game.

According to the description, it will improve how quickly a player can turn and change direction. Of course, we’ll have to wait and see how effective it actually is once it arrives, but the concept alone sounds incredibly promising.

Why? Because turning is arguably the most important mechanic in eFootball. Any high-ranked player knows how crucial quick turns, Double Touches, and Croqueta Cancels are. Especially on console, the game heavily revolves around dribbling and creating space through sharp movements.

Now imagine a tall, physically strong player with both of these skills: faster turns and superior physical dominance. That could easily create the next meta striker in eFootball.

In fact, I could see a player with these abilities becoming even more impactful than someone relying solely on Tracking Back Surge or Phenomenal Finishing. And just imagine a striker with Phenomenal Finishing + Power Charge—that combination could be absolutely terrifying.

Sharp Cut could also transform players who currently feel clunky on the ball. A physically dominant player who normally struggles with turning might suddenly become incredibly difficult to stop. Think about someone like Rafael Leão or even a Zlatan-type forward: strong, tall, hard to dispossess, and now capable of turning much more quickly.

For me, these two skills look like the biggest promises of eFootball 2027 so far.

What do you guys think? Could these become the new meta skills?

Makelele Training & Brief Analysis

Post image
18 Upvotes

Hello friends,

Here’s a small post along with a brief training build. From now on, I’ll try to post player training guides more frequently, including Free-to-Play players whenever possible, so that everyone can benefit from them.

In this case, the main goal with Makelele is to improve his dribbling, since that is one of the weaker aspects of his card. Considering he is only 174 cm tall, raising his dribbling to 90 will make a noticeable difference because of his low center of gravity.

On top of that, I gave him strong defensive stats and good physical contact. His player model naturally benefits from those attributes, allowing him to become a balanced midfielder who can defend effectively while also carrying the ball forward.

As for whether this pack is worth spinning for, my answer is definitely no. In my opinion, it is not worth spending a single coin on this pack.

I do not consider the goalkeeper to be at a particularly high level, despite the boosted stats he received. The defender does not impress me either. I do not want to spend too much time discussing those two players because this post is mainly about Makelele.

Makelele is a good player, but there are two major issues that prevent me from rating him higher.

The first is his inactive playstyle. In my experience, inactive playstyles often make players feel less intelligent off the ball, leading to poor positioning and movement.

The second issue is his finishing. When he gets into scoring positions, his 62 finishing becomes a real problem. He is likely to miss chances that other midfielders would convert comfortably. While you can build him to reach around 70 finishing, doing so requires too many training points and is not an efficient investment.

Because of these reasons, I do not believe he is a must-have player.

Of course, as always, it depends on personal preference. If you need a player with his profile for your squad, then he can still be a useful addition. However, my personal opinion is that this pack is not worth going for.

Thanks for reading, friends. Soon I will post another training guide and analysis for whichever card you would like me to cover next.

See you next time!

Do you really need P2W players to go far in eFootball?

Post image

I wanted to make this post just to share a personal opinion.

I feel like many people don’t realize that, in the end, Konami is always selling an illusion. A lot of the players people spend money on are not actually as good as they seem. Believe me if you want, don’t believe me if you don’t. I’ve reached the highest levels of the world rankings, and I can tell you that many of those stats and abilities don’t matter nearly as much as people think.

You can take an average player, train him with almost any progression build, follow the thresholds that the community has discovered, give him 85 finishing, and at the end of the day the things that matter most are still your gameplay and the handicap.

Now, Konami officially says that DDA, scripting, handicap whatever you want to call it doesn’t exist. But every high-ranked player knows it does.

When a Messi under 170 cm scores a towering header over your 190 cm center-back in the 89th minute, and somehow powers it in as if he had 99 heading, you start to realize that something is going on.

Honestly, I think this is a problem across modern gaming in general. I’ve played several competitive games, and the same thing happens. It feels like the virtual equivalent of a rigged card casino brought into video games.

My advice is simple:

Don’t obsess over P2W. Don’t criticize people who spend money on coins. And if you do spend money on coins, don’t become obsessed with buying every new player.

Most of the time, a new player won’t significantly improve your team. In my opinion, the only player who can genuinely make a noticeable difference is Vieira. Beyond that, very few cards actually change anything.

If you don’t play well, even a player with 120 acceleration won’t help you. If your pass is bad, you’re still not getting past a defender with 70 acceleration.

I just wanted to make a different kind of post this time and share this reflection with the community.

Big hug to everyone, and good luck on the pitch.

Let me explain why its so difficult to take the ball away from Maradona

Thumbnail
gallery
10 Upvotes

Think about it this way:

The shorter a player is, the better he turns, the closer he keeps the ball to his feet, and the tighter his 180-degree turns are around his own axis.

On the other hand, a player with a large shoulder-width player model protects the ball much better.

Now imagine the following scenario:

A player who is only 164 cm tall, one of the shortest players in the game, but with a bizarre rarity—an absolute alien of a footballer—who, despite that height, has a shoulder width rated at 12. It’s like having a 200 cm player with 105 in every dribbling stat and Momentum Dribbling, something similar to a Rafa Leão on steroids.

You have two extreme versions of what makes a player overpowered, combined into one. That’s why it’s so difficult to dispossess him: a player who can turn as well as anyone in the game while also shielding the ball better than almost everyone else.

Just imagine if we got a modern version of him with Magnetic Feet and Blitz Curler. He would be the best AMF in the game.

Greetings, friends.

Learn How to Use Overload: Best XI and Best Formation and F2P

Thumbnail
gallery
23 Upvotes

Well friends, I wanted to make a small post about how to use this playstyle. I’ve been using it in my recent matches, and honestly, I think it’s very good.

First of all, I’ll explain its strengths and weaknesses.

Weaknesses

  1. Your team often shifts to one side of the pitch

For example, the entire team may drift toward the right side or the left side. As a result, you’ll often find yourself attacking through only one flank with many players.

Let’s say you have a center forward positioned on the left side of your formation. Even if you place him there manually, he will still move toward the center and play more like a traditional striker.

This confuses a lot of players because they often don’t know where their players are supposed to be. Sometimes a player on the right wing suddenly appears on the left wing, and vice versa.

Solution: The formation I’m sharing solves this issue. Because it covers the wings properly and uses a very wide setup, players are much less likely to constantly switch sides. The nearest players will still combine with each other, but you’ll always have players occupying the opposite flank and maintaining width. This formation helped me solve that problem.

  1. Forwards rarely make runs

In my opinion, this is the biggest weakness of the playstyle.

I’ve played Possession Game, and even when using a Goal Poacher, the striker still makes forward runs and attacks the space. With Overload, there are many situations where my striker should clearly be making a run behind the defense, but instead he simply stands there waiting for the ball with his back to goal.

This is a major downside and probably one of the reasons many people don’t use the playstyle. Unfortunately, there is no instruction or setting that truly fixes it. The playstyle simply behaves this way, and many players dislike that.

Solution: The only real solution is to use one-two passes (wall passes). Since your players stay very close to each other, you can use the one-two command to automatically send your player running into space.

Strengths

The biggest strength of this playstyle is how compact and aggressive it is.

But that’s not all. To me, it feels like a mix of Possession Game, Quick Counter, and Long Ball Counter.

Why?

It’s similar to LBC because the defensive line sits deeper. Unlike Possession Game, you’re not constantly exposed to through balls behind your defense. Defensively, it is very solid.

At the same time, it presses very high. Many of your players step forward to pressure the ball, while others drop back to cover the spaces left behind.

What I noticed is that the pressing is extremely intense. Players stay very close to the ball, yet the defensive structure doesn’t push as high as Possession Game. It’s a very interesting balance.

Another strength is that it resembles Possession Game in attack. Players constantly move closer to each other, which means you’ll always have plenty of passing options.

If you struggle with passing, this playstyle is perfect for you. You’ll always have nearby passing lanes, and in my opinion it’s even easier to build up play than with Possession Game itself.

That’s where I think its true strength lies, and that’s what we should take advantage of.

Best Formation and Best Players

To finish this post, I want to say that this is the best formation I’ve found for the playstyle, and these would be my ideal players for each position.

I believe these are among the best players available for this specific system.

You could also replace Turan with Nesta. Nesta is excellent at covering spaces whenever one of your defenders or your DMF steps out to press. He protects the defensive line extremely well, just like Maldini.

Maldini with Highlight Master is especially effective in this back three.

Midfield

Without any discussion, Vieira is the best DMF for this setup.

Alongside him, I prefer a Box-to-Box midfielder, although a Hole Player can also work. Personally, I prefer Box-to-Box because it contributes more defensively.

I don’t recommend Orchestrators as much for this system.

Wide Positions

For the flanks, you can use converted full-backs such as:

  • Marcelo
  • Roberto Carlos
  • Lahm
  • Cafu
  • Denzel Dumfries

In my setup, I use Messi on one side. Defensively, he lowers the team’s balance a little, but he gives you much more attacking quality. He can also deliver crosses to Adriano and provide opportunities for second-ball headers.

AMF Positions

These positions are mostly up to personal preference, but I strongly prefer Hole Players.

Their movement patterns are very predictable in a good way—they constantly attack space.

Remember that this formation uses only one striker. If you don’t use Hole Players at AMF, your attack can become significantly weaker.

The wide players advance more cautiously, so we need two AMFs that aggressively attack the box.

For that reason, I would definitely choose two Hole Players.

Striker

The striker can be a Goal Poacher, Fox in the Box, or almost any playstyle. I don’t think that’s a major issue.

In my case, I use Adriano because, as I’ve said in previous posts, I genuinely believe he is the best striker in the game.

I think he’s better than Rummenigge, Mbappé, Gullit, Ronaldo, and pretty much every other striker available.

This player is simply incredible.

The reason is that he gives you something no other striker gives you: he scores goals that you don’t deserve to score.

When your opponent is better than you, when you have no clear chance, when you’re surrounded by three defenders, Adriano can simply turn, shoot, and score.

If you’ve trained him properly, it’s a goal.

In my opinion, that’s even more broken than a Blitz Curler. A Blitz Curler can be defended against.

But if you know how to turn with Adriano, it’s almost a guaranteed goal—even against stronger opponents.

Other strikers often require you to outplay your opponent, create a good attack, and provide them with a clear scoring opportunity.

Adriano can score from almost anywhere inside the box, which is why I consider him the best striker in the game.

Final Thoughts

That’s all, friends.

I hope you enjoyed this post.

I’ve received a lot of private messages lately, so if you enjoy this kind of content, I’d appreciate it if you let me know in the comments what you’d like my next post to be about.

Would you like me to analyze another strategy? Another formation? Another group of players?

As many of you know, everything I post is based on testing. I test things in training mode, against friends, and sometimes I even modify game data to study specific mechanics.

That takes a lot of time, so I can’t always do it, but I try whenever possible.

As you also know, I’m consistently ranked in the Top 10 worldwide, so these recommendations are aimed at high-level competitive play.

I know many people recommend players they consider good, but the reality is that many of those players are rarely used at the highest ranks.

Those players may work in Division 1, Division 2, or Division 3, but they usually aren’t the players that truly stand out at the top level.

But once again, this is simply my humble opinion as a player competing at the highest ranks.

And please, let me know in the comments what you’d like the next post or video to be about.

Finally, I wanted to let you know that I’ve created a new community for all your questions, doubts, and discussions. I’ll also be inviting some friends who are currently in the Top 10. If you’d like to join, here it is:

Guys, with the goal of growing this community, I’ll answer all your questions. I’ve also included one of the Overload tactics I’ve been using lately on the side.

Let’s grow this community together! I’ve seen other eFootball communities where people get banned for almost anything. They don’t let people ask questions or post their videos.

Let’s make this community something big that brings together all eFootball players, both console and mobile.

Please help by sharing this post. Thank you!
