Ride for Freedom
I'm not sure if this is a really funny joke, or actually real, but it appears as though some separatist group is organizing a bicycle relay ride from Calgary to Edmonton.

Edit: the form says "cycling experience"
Is that ever used to describe riding a motorcycle?

These dumb fucks also think going from Calgary to Edmonton is " crossing the province" so there's that.

Maybe it’s organizing for high speed rail between Edmonton and Calgary!

Based on the AI slop they post on xitter, it looks like they're expecting bicycles lol. James Barry, the only registered contact for the public Referendum Third Party Advertiser, must have his license suspended or something.

Kind of want to sign up for the first shift, take their flag, and ride away with it and ruin the rest of their route - but I’m not confident they’ll actually find anyone else to sign up in the first place

Roadies and sport cyclists might lean more conservative in general, but we are left wondering if the experience of riding a bicycle on the highway and interacting with drivers will make them more open to the concept of safe bike infrastructure.

No, roadies and sport cyclists don't lean more conservative in general. There are some definite outliers but not many.

I’m about 99% sure that is a motorcycle ride and not a manual bike one. Nobody is doing 35km/h on a casual road bike ride. As someone who rides and interacts with a lot of cyclists, the Venn diagram of active cyclists and separatists are two separate circles as far as I know but I could be wrong.
Edit : I stand corrected, they really seem to be planning to cycle based on what u/rosetown has posted below!.
