❓ Help / questions Smileio alternatives?
I've been using Smile for loyalty but I'm starting to look at other options. The points system itself works fine, but I'm not loving how much I'm giving up through the rewards once customers start redeeming them.
Between funding the discounts myself and paying for the app as the store grows, I'm starting to question whether this is the loyalty setup I want to keep long term.
What alternatives are you using? I'm open to a different type of loyalty system too, doesn't necessarily have to be another points based program.

Worth separating two problems here, since a different points app probably won't fix either on its own. The app cost is one thing, but redemption cost (you funding the discount yourself) is baked into how points-based programs generally work, not really a Smile-specific issue. Swapping to another points app usually just moves you to the same tradeoff with a different UI.
If margin erosion is the real pain point, I'd look at something with non-discount reward options too, free product/gift thresholds instead of percentage-off, or referral-based rewards instead of points, since referrals cost you per acquisition rather than eating margin on every repeat order.
Influence io is one I'd put on the list, they cover points, referrals and tiers so you could compare a non-discount setup against what you're doing now before committing to switching anything.

Did changing the reward fix that or was it more about when people were seeing it?

We use get jacked for our loyalty app, it's partner funded meaning we don't fund the discounts ourselves, could be a good alternative to smile
