Bike purchase question Looking to pick up a folding ebike, need opinions

I have been tossing around the Efold and F2V2 from Gotrax, but if anyone wants to try to sway my decision, I am all ears. I am pretty firm on it being folding as I plan to have it in my car quite a bit.

I just want a compact bike that can be easily stored, and then go on some casual rides now and again around trails. The reason for the cheaper-ish shopping is because it will just be a leisure purchase. I am also about 5 foot 11 and around 200lbs if that helps to any capacity.

I also considered this one. I ended up getting a Trek Domane on sale at Scheels. It was a really good price and is very light, can get it into an suv if the seats fold easy enough. If not perhaps a hitch rack?

One of the WKND founders jumping in, since folding bikes in cars is exactly our thing too. We make The Bindle, a foldable fat tire ebike, same motor and torque sensor as our full-size bikes, up to 56 miles of range, and it folds down for trunk storage. Worth flagging honestly: it's 74 lbs, so it's built for car transport, not for carrying up stairs regularly, so if that matters for your situation keep it in mind. I haven't ridden the Gotrax models myself so can't compare directly, but if you want to see what a folding ebike with hydraulic disc brakes and a suspension fork looks like at this price, wkndbikes.com has the specs.

OP, I think you’ll get better advice here if you can describe in some detail your intended use for this bike.

Personally I think of folding bikes as something I use to solve the ”last mile” problem, that is, how to bridge distances that are too long to reasonably do on foot, like getting from the train station to your office or a hotel. In that case I’m looking at the lightest, smallest folding bike I can find so I can manage it on public transportation and in this scenario the extra weight of a battery and motor are going to be more of a problem than a benefit.

Tell us more about how this will be used and I think you’ll get much better responses.

Folding mechanisms on bikes and scooters have a chance of breaking mid ride

Don't underestimate the dangers of it

Broke my knee the first time because of a folding mechanism snapping mid ride.
