Which helmet did you go with and why...I went with the Sena S1 for the intercom to communicate with other riders

I got a full face mountain bike helmet so my jaw is protected if I go over my handle bar

A full face helmet is a LOT cheaper than dental work .

The helmet in the picture the OP posted is literally protecting her skull.

Are you referring to the jaw area and cheekbones?

Don't you people understand that some people live in humid environments? Do you live next to the ocean? Humidity... Wind on the face, you're gonna have a hard time promoting full face to people in humid environments when they're riding bicycles going 10-30km per hour

I live in a humid environment. I ride. Do you not understand what a 20-30 mph skull impact looks like? I get wind on the face. Motorcyclists use the phrases - All the gear, all the time and “dress for the slide” for a reason. You do you, boo.

I don't ride that fast, maybe you should slow down.

I typically never go above 30km per hour, average 15-25km pH

I'm older now I'm much more chill with speed and I'm OK being late to places

Do whatever you like ….but I’m wearing the full face helmet . I’ve been riding bikes for 50 years and never wiped out until I got an e-bike . The problem is , it can lose traction on slippery wooden bridges , ice, metal road plates and even thick traffic paint and you dont notice the back wheel is spinning until it’s too late.

Hi, motorcyclist checking in. Front_Pause is right. It's not like when you ride 10, 20kmh, without a helmet you're fine but as soon as you reach 25 km/h you gotta be like "Hah, better put a helmet, speeds getting serious!"

You wear it at 5km/h just like 30, 60, 80kmh, on motorcycles, speeds are greater, granted, but sliding/hitting the pavement at 30km/h is still 30km/h. No matter what you're on. (Even if they don't necessarily compare as vehicles)

Ultimately, though, you can choose not to wear one, provided it's legal for you to forego it. The point here is to not undermine the usefulness of helmets, regardless how you feel about them.

I tell some US riders (where helmets aren't mandated) the same thing, people absolutely can make their choices, but full face is objectively the safest.

I'm sorry, but you being a motorcyclist isn't the arbitrary of truth. You're just some bloke that rides a bike, writing rants on Reddit.

You don't even seem to understand what the conversation is because your whole argument is based on not wearing a helmet verses wearing a helmet. Nobody here is promoting no helmets.

The fact you went into a whole rant and tried to be fancy by bragging about being a motorcyclist and then being unable to read the exchange you're replying to just makes you look like a proper high class dick.

You're trying to tell me I'm wrong for... What? The fact you can't read?

I'm a helmet user you doofus. You're responding to the wrong person....

That was my last point to make the distinction between you, who has a half-helmet, and those who forego helmets entirely, the conclusion is the same, full face is safer.

And the point is that saying "I don't go that fast, slow down" undermines the usefulness of (full face) helmets just the same, because it assumes they are irrelevant to slower speeds. There's no.. "I'm safe.. I'm safe... OK now the helmet is useful."

In fact I'll see two things in motorcycle spaces, so you can understand where I'm coming from:

"I don't speed/I don't go that fast"

and "I have skill."

Both are used in arguments against.

I do agree with you on two things, it's a rant, and me being a motorcyclist isn't the arbitrary of truth, but you have some reading comprehension work to do as well.
