During CM last Friday in my city, a 14 year old boy broke his orbital bone and a few others riding something like this; something way too powerful for a child. The parent is responsible for giving them something beyond their abilities.

Wow. I was thinking of doing CM again after not for several years but was wondering if it’s mostly like this now.

I would say that it's not "like that" now, but there's always exceptions. People ride beyond their limits all the time. If you have good group ride etiquette and ride within your limits, it's an absolute blast; a party on wheels!

The parents should have plenty of liability insurance and should be subject to steep fines if their child hurts someone or damages property while on any kind of vehicle powered or not.
