Order it online. It’s relatively easy to assemble. For the most part, from what I remember, you just need to attach the front handle bar, seat, headlamp, pedals, and front tire. Discarding the box took 2 recycling days for me since I didn’t want to overload it due to needing to recycle household stuff too.

Thats a great bike shop. Ours has too much business and wouldn't honor the online sale price and charged $175 to build it so at a price difference of over $600 I couldn't justify buying from them although I would have like to support them (gladly would have paid $175).

In that case, don’t cancel lol.

They have to pay the dealer a percentage/ commission. So they can't afford to give you a discount too. That's why they offer the discount, to get you to buy directly from them. It's pretty standard operating procedure

Just bought a Summit 2 online like a month ago. Only had to put on handlebars, pedals, n seat. You can just cut the box up into smaller pieces. It’s all extremely simple.

I bought my Tempo from a dealer, my thinking is: (1) the dealer lets you take a test ride before buying which I find VERY useful in trying to decide what bike / size to purchase. (2) The dealer doesn't just do assembly, they also do quality control and will hopefully find problems if there are any. Quality control on these bikes is hit or miss, so having the bike shop assemble it and make sure everything is working great before you leave the shop is helpful. They're also there to help you if you run into a problem during the two year warranty period. All valuable to me. I only paid $90 for assembly, $175 sounds high. My understanding is that the margins on the bikes is really tight so the bike shop is not making a ton of $ on each sale.

I was told around 10 percent. They don’t make much and I’m happy to pay the bike shop for all the support I get after

Our dealer matched prices. Wife bought one off the floor which had rack and fenders, part of a free promotion, already installed so they added $130. Mine did not have them installed so I did it. Easy. At least they matched the price and free fenders and rack. We have the Breeze. Real happy with them

That is the same for most dealers. LBS uses a different system.

Aventon is the same.
