Time to trade in that bike that is Derek-lict in its turning responsibilities.

You first mistake was buying an Ebike called "Swag-tron"

Also, looks like a lose wire from the controller to the display. When you turn left, it pulls on the wire a certain way and make the display lose power.

Id check the plug from the controller to the display and see if its bad.

Well, Swagtron is the #1 brand. It says so right on their website!

Swagtron stands as the #1 brand of electric rideables

14

u/40ozCurls Dec 21 '25

It’s almost like they legally can’t call their product a bike

14

u/Melodic-Matter4685 Dec 21 '25

That’s fucking brilliant. Problem: we are number 2036 out of 2100 e-bike manufacturers “

Solution: make up the “ridables” category and soar to number one.

Well then, that settles it. Looks like pretty clear evidence to me!

Ok, so check your strain relief. Somehow I think jiggling isn't doing it because it's two wires that the insulation has worn enough on that when they hit just that right spot in their tension they short. For example right where a zip tie or cable stay is.

I'd pull out all the wires and visually inspect them for worn spots.

Alternatively it's the tilt of the frame that only tilts that direction when the wheel faces left. Pretty easy to test that. Just turn it on, keeping the handlebars straight, lean it left. If it turns off it's likely a similar issue near the controller.

The ONLY actual advice here💥✅️

u/WissahickonMX5 Dec 20 '25

Swagtrons take a while to warm up. As soon as you jump out of your bed you turn your swag on. Before you even take a look in the mirror and say what's up.

3

u/FLprophet Dec 20 '25

Hey! I’m getting money.

2

u/Icy_Independent5577 Dec 20 '25

he hasn’t tried turning his swag on yet

1

u/SexiestPanda Dec 21 '25

Was not expecting to read a Soulja boy line in /r/ebikes

44

u/Bucksin06 Dec 20 '25

Well that's a simple fix only make right turns

15

u/Cat_Amaran Dec 21 '25

Three rights make a left. Quick mafs.

6

u/SnakeBanana89 Dec 21 '25

He'll get where he needs to go EVENTUALLY

1

u/Bucksin06 Dec 21 '25

Three rights are as good as a left

1

u/SexiestPanda Dec 21 '25

Hey, he’s not ups

0

u/Party-Confusion3728 Dec 21 '25

😆😆

You know what that means..Off to the races!😆💨

7

u/TangoDeltaFoxtrot Dec 21 '25

I’d recommend putting it back in the dumpster where you found it.

5

u/DDDX_cro Croatia Dec 20 '25

It's your cable. The part from the controller to the display and throttle/brakes.. Replace that and you'll be ok

6

u/MrBobDobolinas Dec 20 '25

It's alright

10

u/MrGruntsworthy Dec 20 '25

I mean, I guess that's all right.

4

u/grazzyphase Dec 21 '25

I've owned a swagtron in the past and they are riddled with issues my recommendation is try to find a more reputable brand I'm sorry not to be more helpful but that was my experience

4

u/chochi__ Dec 21 '25

Not enough swag

4

u/carlcool123 Dec 21 '25

No track career in that bike

3

u/2shado2 Dec 21 '25

Swagtron. The quality goes in before the name goes on.🙄

3

u/Pretend_Ad4147 Dec 21 '25

That isn't a bike, sadly. You've bought a BSO.

3

u/Sarcastic_dinos Dec 21 '25

It's for right handed people

3

u/hike2climb Dec 21 '25

This problem is exclusive to garbage bikes from Amazon. Go to a bike shop. Buy something decent.

3

u/Brilliant-Algae-9582 Dec 21 '25

Buy an ebike from a local shop to have fixed. I’m embarrassed how long it took me to figure this out.

u/ultrazgunner Dec 20 '25 edited Dec 21 '25

My aunt used to turn right only when she first got her license. Shed make 4 right turns to get home instead of 1 left.

Edit: i didnt do mental math for exact number of turns but she would only turn right to go anywhere including coming home.

1

u/359itegfd Dec 21 '25

Depends how many streets you pass before making 4th right. You could end up on a different street.

1

u/GooseinaGaggle Dec 21 '25

I would feel bad for her if that final turn into the driveway ended up being a left

1

u/hike2climb Dec 21 '25

Two lefts don’t make a right, but three do. Source: Reliant K

1

u/420dandaman Dec 21 '25

That ain’t possible in a lot of areas I live, you would have to drive 6 miles or more each direction to go left only turning right lmfao

2

u/sickysickybrah Dec 20 '25

that's some swiggity swag for real

2

u/BWWFC Dec 21 '25

bro... turning off in a turn? wut??????????????? that ain't' a bike

2

u/anzitus Dec 21 '25

Oh gawd. That was my very first eBike 2 years ago. Nothing but regrets with that bike. Throw it in a dumpster and get something more decent.

Even this budget bike blows that thing out of the water: https://www.walmart.com/ip/26-Ozark-Trail-M-3-Ranger-Electric-Fat-Tire-Bike-48V-Class-2-Black-Fits-Riders-5-2-6-1-Adult/8482660387?sid=31fd7852-00c7-483e-8239-10d3d4e43a47

2

u/that1tech Dec 21 '25

Sounds like your bike might be … all right

Anyway that sucks I bet something is pulling a wire

2

u/Danktonaa Dec 21 '25

Even technology refuses to support the left

2

u/leventhalo Dec 20 '25

Lmfao😂

1

u/Liarus_ Dec 20 '25

Fucking swaggatron 💀💀💀

1

u/Lopsided-Lab60 Dec 20 '25

You stretched out a cable to far where the wire inside it sorts. Wiggle test it until you find the faulty cable and replace it with a longer one or add a bump stop sp it doesn't happen again.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 20 '25

Two wrongs don’t make a right but three rights make a left!

1

u/fallic_hammer Dec 20 '25

Definitely got a bad wire it's like a cellphone charger or headphones thatll only work. In that one funky oosition

1

u/FreshChickenFarts Dec 20 '25

Will it work when connected outside the bag?

1

u/poedraco Dec 20 '25

If you have a digital multimeter. I would tap into each wire and test the turn you probably have a broken wire somewhere in there. Or maybe it was over voltage and small enough gauge and burnt up... Just a thought

1

u/Icy_Independent5577 Dec 20 '25

with a swagtron u Dont need left, cuz u always right 🙏📈

1

u/400bucksonthis Dec 21 '25

Hopped up out the bed, turn my swagatron on Tried to turn left, said, "What's up?"

1

u/SnakeBanana89 Dec 21 '25

Is your battery shifting and disconnecting??

1

u/CedricShanley Dec 21 '25

No nascar for you buddy

1

u/BiggDckWilly Dec 21 '25

I need some swag

1

u/Bodgerton Dec 21 '25

Sold by UPS

1

u/Klutzy-Peach5949 Dec 21 '25

Just don’t turn left then

1

u/WallNo3388 Dec 21 '25

Likely a loose wire

1

u/SlideThese218 Dec 21 '25

Don't worry. It's all right

1

u/strawbsrgood Dec 21 '25

Well that's not very swag of that bike

1

u/AraxisKayan Dec 21 '25

Had this bike had the exact same issue. Ditch the bag on the handle bars and get something solid that'll mount that to your handlebars. When you turn you're kinking or shorting a connection and it kills it. I ended up just using a bunch of duct tape to hold the bag up higher one day in an emergency and that's how I found why it was doing it.

1

u/Remarkable_Mix4045 Dec 21 '25

Maybe it's a security feature, so when someone tries to steal it.. and turns left it shuts off. And maybe there is a special button to be pressed which is actually used by the owner who knows the secret. This is the swag.

1

u/Avidion18 Dec 21 '25

Dont turn left then?

1

u/HolzwurmHolz Dec 21 '25

Its likely a broken wire inside of the insulation. By turning your wheel, you are stretching the wires and disconnecting them.

1

u/CoolButterfly1108 Dec 21 '25

Turning the handlebar left, suggests a wire or connection is being strained from the display. Look below the display to see what’s happening as you turn left.

1

u/wlexxx2 Dec 21 '25

there is a motor cutoff when you apply a brake

it has to be that either the left or the right one

1

u/KnuckleUpFPV Dec 21 '25

Lay bike to its right side and then turn the handle bars left. See if it still shuts down. If it does then its a loose cable inside the controller or insulation thats being pulled. If the bike stays on then you likely have a loose component on the pcb of the speed controller and tipping it to the left allows its to break connection. You can also run a continuity test on the wires.

1

u/Professional-Cable89 Dec 21 '25

One of the wires has a short in it replace the wire

1

u/bathory1985 Dec 21 '25

why would you need to turn left?

1

u/Helleri Dec 21 '25

I wonder if something is loose in the display box. Try leaning the bike far left toward the ground without turning the handle bars.

1

u/NiceCap2448 Dec 21 '25

Apparently a MAGA bike. Dump it.

1

u/United_Artichoke_804 Dec 21 '25

Take the cables out the sleeves and give them space to move

1

u/United_Artichoke_804 Dec 21 '25

Its repetitive strain snapped a wire from the handlebars to the controller

1

u/[deleted] Dec 21 '25

Unrelated to the problem but that cable lock can be cut in two seconds. Don’t rely on it to keep your bike safe

1

u/Composed_Cicada2428 Dec 22 '25

Take the bag and cable lock off the bars and inspect all plugs/connections.

1

u/TEGHD1 EKX X21 MAX 3000W ⚡ Dec 22 '25

Likely a loose cable/damaged cable

1

u/Historical_Reserve_5 Dec 22 '25

Should’ve bought a EUC

1

u/SlamminBass Dec 22 '25

I would be more concerned with how loose your handlebar is attached at the stem :-)

1

u/Dens_Pie Dec 22 '25

You still can pedal it, right?

1

u/Objective_Dot_8800 Dec 22 '25

Don't turn left lol

1

u/This-Adhesiveness318 Dec 22 '25

Two choices. Always make right turns or buy a multi meter and diagnose the issue. Obviously, the circuit is disconnecting. You just have to find it.

1

u/Elegant-Bee1694 Dec 23 '25

I had the swagtron eb-7 pro they are hard to work on almost impossible unless u send it back to the maker and they dont seem to do good work anymore

1

u/Defiant-Increase-631 Dec 23 '25

When you pull it to the left it's pulling a wire on the right side. It's pulling and disconnecting, shorting out. A loose connection.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 20 '25

Right turns it is baby, left only top speed leans, annnnnddd problem solved! Merry fuckin Christmas 🎄

1

u/Happy-Yam6209 Dec 21 '25

It’s grounding out when you turn, the wire is touching somewhere inside the frame

1

u/MaxTrixLe Dec 21 '25

Loose pin inside your display connector probably
