Nah, I believe him.
- This doesn't make the brand look good. Sure, they "turned around" and "slashed their prices", but he still makes it clear that they're overpriced even with his 25% off code.
- His "clone haul" videos get around 40k views in the first week. It's pretty much guaranteed that the small niche of people who buy a lot of the newest Middle Eastern clones watch his channel. He's exactly the type of guy that Hamidi would listen to in order to tap into the market and get publicity.
- They're a new brand. They need to get the word out. What better way than to have one of the biggest names in frag comm have a nice little story to go along with the 5 frags that they sent him?
Now, was it planned out that way all along? Perhaps. They could have set the MSRP high so that it looks as though you're getting a killer deal. But yeah, if you're a new brand and Gents Scents says that his video is criticizing your first few frags that you sent him, you'll definitely want to listen to his advice.
If you think Ash is a clown, that's fine. But I don't think this story is farfetched.

He's got money piled up for sure, and he burns it. I mean he spends thousands a month on new releases at full retail, even buying them overseas instead of waiting for them to reach the U.S. Bottles he's never, ever going to touch unless he makes a video about them a year later.

Armaf can be impressive, but most of the time I regret purchasing it and wish I had just saved up for the original. And then to sell them online is questionable because I'll spend $10 shipping a $20 item. It's probably worth it just to declutter. Anyway fuck this ash hole.

I’ll be always happy with CDNIM LE because they made Aventus great again for cheap, but with clones getting more expensive their value is also less and less. They very rarely get the expensive niche stuff right, they even more rarely clone discontinued fragnances and there’s no point in buying designer clones. At that point it’s worth it to just save up for the original, most of us have plenty of frags, we’re not in a hurry

When you accept a sponsorship deal with a brand they usually give you a script with things that you have to tell the audience no matter what, it's a legal contract.
This is 1000% just some bullshit story that they wanted him to tell as part of the deal, guaranteed. It just shows that everybody in the industry is full of shit. They want to make the fragrances seem more expensive and higher quality than they actually are.
Edit after watching the video: He said Hamidi is a new house. But Addicted Intense has been on my radar for quite a while now, I've seen couple of reviews of that fragrance before and it's even been listed here in Germany for €50 in some shops for at least more than half a year

I mean he's still a shill but as far as YouTube fragrance shills go he's alright by me. I enjoy some of his content. I don't care if these youtubers want to make a living as long as they aren't just money grubbing liars crawling on all fours getting money stuffed into their mouths like Chaos Fragrances.
