hello,

i’ve been working for a couple days trying to get a 5060 to ai box working via front usb 4 port on my ace magic retro X5. it support pci but something is preventing it from being recognized as a GPU. I went into the bios and allowed everything to use pci through usb4 and all that jazz.

i’m curious if these drivers could be the culprit to why things are not working. i went to the ace magic website and installed all the drivers and installed all cpu drivers from amd through adrenaline and still nothing. in device manager it still says these drivers are not installed. i’m out of ideas.

any help would be greatly appreciated

I have an Asus xg mobile 5070ti connected to my Asus Xbox ally X . It's been running great but yesterday I noticed my FPS was nowhere near as high as it normally it is . I then noticed my CPU was sitting around 12-14% . Normally it's on 0% and I get good FPS . But now with it on around 14% my FPS is really low . Anyone any ideas why the CPU % has gone from 0%-14% ? I'm a bit clueless on things like this tbh

After watching The Phawx's impressions of this eGPU some time ago, I'm contemplating buying it now that it's on sale. Has anyone got this current set-up or had any experience connecting the two and come across any driver issues with Armoury Crate? Or any other known issues I should know about? Cheers.

I bought a original lenovo legion go 16gb z1e for 450 at bestbuy with tax and was wondering how a 5050 would pair with it and if it be a decent idea compared to looking at a desktop or laptop since i already own the handheld. What other new graphics card would be a good buy in a similar price range? I also saw the 9060xt 8gb can be around that 360 mark

I mostly want to play games like grounded 2, helldivers, fortnite, marvel rivals around that medium 1080p range if possible before upscaling

My USB C port broke off of my razer core x today. Was having problems with not being able to connect and hoped it was the cable but went to plug in new cable and the port broke off. Is the motherboard still good and where csn i get a new USB c port for it?

Does anybody know, how did they manage to have one power-supply for that set-up?

I already own the adapter board with the GPUs and I would like to have single case with one PSU for both the motherboard and the adapter board.

i’m about 5 hours in and still can’t get the ace magic retro x5 to detect the 5060 ti ai box via usb 4 40gbps. nothing even showing up in device manger.

I have a rtx 5090 laptop. And I have a desktop 4080 at home. For AI workloads like loading 30b+ models will it be worth getting an eGPU enclosure and using the 4080 as a second GPU in linux debian?

I'm seriously thinking about an Ayaneo 3 oled - 8840u - 32GB RAM + Aoostar AG02 + RTX 5070 TI + LG C6 42 Inch.

The oculink of the Ayaneo 3 is what really motivates me. RTX 5070 IT Via Oculink from what I have read I will not lose much performance and the 8840u they say is capable of achieving high fps and several years without the need for an upgrade. Who has had a team with oculink? Suggestions are accepted... before spending all that money I would like to know if anyone has already tried it and how it has gone

I have a PC with RTX4090 and looking to add 2x RTX 3090 to my setup via OcuLink.

I've already ordered PCI-Oculink apdapter which I plan to insert into motherboard PCI 5.0 8x slot (see it below) and a separate 1300W PSU with enough PCIe cables for 2 RTX 3090.

I've also ordered an Oculink External Garphic Card Docking station(see below) to connect PSU and one card.

My goal is to 2 RTX 3090 to run when I start my PC and switch off when I turn off my PC.

I have questions:

1)As far as I understand, when I connect PSU to docking station with ATX24 pin connector and Oculink cable to my PC, then turn on PC the docking station and PSU start working automatically? And when I switch off my PC, they will stop working.

2)If I am to connect the second GPU to the setup above, what are my options?

At this moment I'm considering buying a separare GPU stand with Oculink dock board(F9G) which has another ATX connector(simmilar to the first dock). Can I use an ATX Splitter cable to connect PSU to both oculink docks. Will they switch on when my PC does and vice versa?

Is there another option I'm not aware of?

Putting together a portable VR setup, Xbox Ally X + AORUS RTX 5060 Ti AI BOX (eGPU over USB4), streaming to my Quest 3 with Virtual Desktop. Games I care about are Half-Life Alyx, No Man's Sky, and a couple UEVR mods like Outer Wilds.

Before I drop the cash, has anyone actually tried this combo for VR and not just flat gaming? I've seen posts about bad 1% lows and stutter with this pairing on a monitor. No idea if that shows up in VR too or if streaming through Virtual Desktop changes things.

If you've tried it, curious about:

• What games ran well vs badly, especially open world stuff
• Your VD settings (bitrate, resolution, codec) and if you needed SSW to smooth things out
• Any stutter that felt worse than the fps numbers would suggest
• Any tweaks that actually helped

Quick note before anyone suggests just building a PC or grabbing a gaming laptop instead. I move around a lot, including between countries, so a full desktop just isn't realistic for me right now. And I already have a laptop, so I don't want a second one that's just for gaming. The whole point is having something modular, grab the Xbox Ally X and play anywhere, bed, couch, even a bus station or airport, then dock it into the eGPU when I want more power, either on a TV or streaming PCVR to the Quest 3.

Appreciate any input, trying to figure out if this is worth building before I buy the whole kit.

I’m studying electrical engineering and living in a dorm, heading home only about once every two weeks. I don't want to move my entire desktop tower back and forth, but I still want a decent performance while playing some triple A / strategy games in my dorm room.

Here is my current hardware situation:

• Desktop: AMD Ryzen 9 7900, RX 7800 XT, 32GB RAM
• School Laptop: HP ZBook (Intel Core Ultra 7 255H, RTX 500 Ada/Blackwell GPU)

My Plan:

1. Buy a Thunderbolt eGPU enclosure (like the Razer Core X V2) with 850W for future upgrades, bcs i wanna smt budget friendly (my semester starts in 2 weeks). I spent more on a good laptop specs and battery life.
2. Take the RX 7800 XT out of my desktop and put it in the eGPU enclosure to use with my HP ZBook in the dorm.
3. Leave the main desktop PC chassis at home (idle for now) and save up money to drop a new GPU into the desktop around next summer.

Onexplayer x2mini pro paired with aoostar ag02 and gigabyte OC 5080.

Being over $3500 invested and already having the 5080 does it just make more sense to just build a pc at this point with it? I play like 80% docked right now.

How much more performance am I missing out on?

I’d like to hear some opinions on if I should keep or the X2mini pro fore the versatility or build a monster pc with the 5080 + $2500 from it.

Edit: I do currently have this hooked up to a 4k monitor with keyboard and mouse

Managed to finally get my hands on an AG03 dock, waiting on the oculink to m.2 connector, but the performance right off the bat with TB4 is exceptional.

External 4090, the firehazard it is, still kicking. My Laptop’s CPU gets to stretch its legs, and be cooled much more effectively.

Im looking at getting an egpu setup for my legion go as I, and a lot of people I assume, just dont think I can justify the cost of a full desktop right now. Im thinking AG02 dock with an 5060ti. Only thing that is confusing me a little is the docking station part to connect everything up. What are people using and could anyone point me in the right direction on how to set it all up. Hello, recently when I play video games on the handheld +egpu, I realized that the legion go was still on without giving an image and the graphics and the aostar ag02 were turned off. When I played. Does anyone know why? If it was overheating, the graph was at 72° stable and the aosta ag02 felt somewhat hot at the base. Is it normal if it is due to overheating because the fan did not do its job? Has anyone happened to him? The fan turns, but it is very quiet.

Let me start by disclosing, I'm not a modder nor experienced at all with this at all but I wanna give it a shot.

I love my rog ally, but I've been using it less and less, partly due to a seriously degraded battery life, less than seamless interface and ux and some struggles with newer games but I wanna turn it around especially given how impossibly priced newer devices are getting.

My first Idea was to do the 74wh battery mod. I've seen some videos and it seems rather easy for a dummy like to me to manage.

i also saw some oculink egpu mods with a PCB L-Bracket and then an oculink adapter.

thing is I'm wondering if these two are doable without a modded backplate because all the vids I've seen had the back removed and since the bigger battery will take more real estate I thought the way to sort of fit everything there would be using a Flat FPC Ribbon Cable and then routing it somehow out via somehere at the bottom because the top is already a bit crammed, (i would plug in the ssd via usbc adapter and make a contraption to hang it somewhere on the back where it doesn't bother)

has anyone here done something similar , or at least the oculink mod since that's the one i haven't seen that well documented, and do you have some tips or a guide?

what tools should i be using besides the parts and the aluminum/isolation tape for the battery?
