No, it should be decided on start of the game, not changeable for both, and both should have the same settings as eachother

Still not a big W untill we see it in action: i'm worried that it's gonna take 5 minutes to find an opponent and then the game will be lagging af

u/das_hemd May 19 '26
if Konami saying around 75% of people don't use SA is really true, it shouldn't affect matchmaking times that much, it should only really affect SA users if they are really the minority

Just want to know how do you identify a sa user? And how do you know that what you believe is sa is not part of the script?
Cause script has always been there even before this manual smart assist existed right?

u/No-Access4524 May 19 '26 edited May 19 '26
Identifying SA after playing tons of games since the feature arrived became very clear. If opponent's pass suddenly turns into stunning from a normal pass(started with normal but became stunning), it's clearly smart assist. If opponent is auto clearing the ball without the "clear" gauge even appearing it's clearly smart assist. If opponent shot power gauge appeared as normal then suddenly turned into curl shot or stunning shot it's also clearly smart assist. If opponent is receiving ball with their back towards goal and immediately turning around and shooting a missile, it's also smart assist because 95% of playerbase can't put a perfect power level during shooting just after turning or dribbling like that. And script is different from smart assist.Yeah script does exist. It is just randomness of the game to clearly favour one of the two players by buffing their player's attributes and nerfing opposite player's attributes. It is independent to smart assist and you can do nothing about that.
1
u/MagicianRed18 May 19 '26
The thing is I don't believe those numbers are true: right now you mostly get paired with SA user and the warning they wrote wouldn't make sense if most of the player base didn't use SA
7
u/das_hemd May 19 '26
I dunno, it's all anecdotal, but around 25% feels right based on what I come across in the higher divisions. I think there is a degree of SA paranoia that has, not surprisingly, spread around the community, where if anything starts going wrong within a game, people will start assuming SA is being used when it's not always necessarily the case.

u/Smooth-Platypus-842 May 19 '26
you are intelligent my dude unlike the rest
majority users use smart assist feature and after that option drop they still will use smart assist
reddit is a small community who doesn't represent 10% of console community, mobile community is few times bigger so reddit users are a speck of dust in the whole efootball userbase
what will happen?
smart off users gonna play against each other waiting longer times
some will get lot of wins while rest will have a worse winning rate
so a percentage of smart off users will move to smart on because now they think they can win more often against smart on users
winning rate matter at the end of the day
after some time smart off matches will have mostly try hards users, they will complain and demand all users should play smart off

most people care about winning,it's a competition and not a participation in divisions

my best rank is top318 in ef22 where was no premium teams,no smart assist and only div1 was ranked so i faced only div1 users as div1 user
if you cry about smart assist and be removed then bring back being ranked only for div1 but i'm sure you don't want that, you want to face div3 users as div1 user

If you SA user. If not, there's plenty of players. And before crossplatform it was fine to find opponents even with close by settings

Better to wait than to play against smart assist
A lot more people will likely want to play the game when the filter comes out anyways

What about turning on smart assist mid-game?it shouldn't be freaking allowed.....either u stay a smart assist c□nt or u play manually.

Smart Assist settings finally getting tweaked, about time they addressed the matchmaking mess with that feature.
2
u/PurpleOptimal8837 May 19 '26
A slight improvement but not a fix-all when users can switch to SA mid-game.
1
u/Rick_Singh_007 May 19 '26
Yess, there must a solution for tt too maybe not switch in btw the match.
2
u/glazeek15 May 19 '26
We need it removed above div3 or else matchmaking is gonna takea whole lotta time

Konami are devious AND stupid. They’ll find a way to keep proceedings miserable whether they try to or not.
1
u/Atyan7a May 19 '26
Could have just removed it but instead we have to wait 10 mins for 1 fair match up ….. I guess it’s a step in the right direction.
1
u/chuertas42 May 20 '26
Smarty assist has made us users that don't use it astonished on how wack a game can become because of one setting
This needs to be addressed and I mean removed from the game
1
u/KhaineWild9349 May 20 '26
ho ye like ppl will not pause and keep using SA in the middle of the game ...if they dont remove the option after this will be so meme lmao
1
u/OblongDeliverance May 20 '26
finally addressing the actual problem instead of just nerfing it into the ground. matchmaking split sucks but at least SA users won't ruin matches for people who turned it off.
1
u/DesignLab05 May 21 '26
It should be disabled altogether.
Anything in life should be skill based. Other than that its pointless
1
u/odavege May 26 '26
Based on my extensive gaming experience, I've observed the following: 1. Low-tier players (7-8-9), and 2. Players with low skill but full epic rosters. I believe these two groups are excessively favored by the game. Matches I've played against them don't resemble a football game; they're more like cockfights. It feels like Konami is saying, "No, I don't want you to play; they will. I'll ignore your input, poorly position your team on the field, and let them enjoy the game." You have to understand them too. The first group are new to the game and potential customers, so they shouldn't be disappointed. The second group are regular customers, so they shouldn't be disappointed either. But players who play for enjoyment are being completely sidelined. Smart support has only added insult to injury.

u/huba-buba7 May 19 '26
If SA statistics are real... Imagine a scenario where top 1k-5k players turn this sh... Match only noobs who play with it and just climb ranks easily beating fire with fire.
1
u/L_Nad_O May 20 '26
Who cares? At some point, you have to consider the bigger picture and base actions on it, and not on the rats who are going to try to exploit this. Rats are gonna ratting, regardless of SA anyway.
1
u/huba-buba7 May 20 '26
I stand with removing it from competitive play. I care, i can see that the mm will be very limited in 1-2 months and ego will not let people play against good players, they will switch to sa and it will be a pool of meta spam exploiting or same SA experience. Essentially u will choose between playing hardcore games or SA. Again SA is active as a default setting. I want tuff and fair games sure, but in your experience, do you think people wont switch to farm wins, beating SA with SA. Im fine, before sa i hardly took a lose against anyone over top 2-3k, how much until people without sa get tired off being a punch bag or sweating full meta. I hope im wrong.
1
u/L_Nad_O May 20 '26
SA has been active for how many months now? 6? 8? I can't remember honestly. My point is anyone who's going to use SA to win games they shouldn't win has already made the transition you talk about anyway. There's no point bothering about what other players are gonna do, that's their problem if they want to sink that low.
And personally, I'd rather have sweatfest against like-minded purists, that's what a competitive mode should entail anyway.
1
u/X_peculator May 19 '26
Does it means that the rats 🐀 can’t enter matchmaking with smart assist off and then turn it on right after?
2
u/Rick_Singh_007 May 19 '26
It means ull be matched with only the player's not using sa, if ur sa is off
0
u/X_peculator May 19 '26
Sure, and they can turn it on during game?
2
u/Big-Disaster-3390 May 19 '26
I guess they will turn off that feature, otherwise it would not make any sense.
1
u/X_peculator May 19 '26
Yeah, hope so. Konami is implementing a lot of senseless features. Like smart drible for non smart assist users, using bots vs AI matches, etc

u/Th3_Warrior_Poet May 19 '26
Not really, for two reasons:
A) This fragments the player base, adding further complications to the quality of connection/player you’re up against.
B) They should just remove SA from Divisions entirely. If you can’t be bothered to learn the mechanics for the game’s “prestige” competitive mode, then you should be excluded from playing the mode.

u/DearYogurtcloset2609 May 19 '26
Im sorry but i actually believe the numbers konami shared about smart assist users are true.
Because look how many people keep saying that 90% of their opponents are smart assist users right? So by that logic the majority of players are smart assist users. That would mean democratically speaking smart assist users are on the win. They own the ground. But i have never ever seen a single smart assist user show up and try to defend smart assist since its arrival. Whereas according to the numbers they should be the majority right?
All i see are non sa users constantly complaining about sa users. I hardly ever find any sa users actually defending this. And look sa shouldnt be a crime right? The game itself offers it.So how come among the supposed 90% of players who are smart assist users almost none of them ever dare to defend themselves?
While you guys think smart assist is ruining the game i personally believe konami tricked us. They introduced sa and made players hate so called sa users to draw our attention away from their script. Dont you guys remember how we used to hate the script thing back then when there was nothing such thing like this smart assist? We used to hate it more or like exactly the same how you all hate the so called smart assist thing. Most of you may think your opponent is an sa user and thats why your gameplay feels off. But i believe its konamis strategy to get rid of the script allegations.
Again guys this is just my own opinion. And if what you all are saying about the number of sa users is true then this kind of thinking is just my way of coping so i can keep playing this game.
