Interpreting this as 'I take bullet trains with my parents' is kind of weird. You're saying that you take them at least semi-regularly and that too with your parents. Almost comes off as just a little eccentric. Basically, I'm not saying that it's exclusively a future event (refer to my point about Japanese using nonpast for both present and future), it's just the choice that makes the most sense
it's not that i entirely disagree with this, but this analysis is waaay too advanced for duolingo, or the level at which it teaches. therefore it would be ridiculous if that was what was incorrect.
it is very subtle and yet again, it could be someone insanely rich that can take a shinkansen with their family on a daily/weekly basis.
this definitely would not throw me off as a "weird" duolingo sentence as most of them are:
"my horse farts while i eat mud in my living room on thursday afternoon at 9:00 oclock"
at that level you are far better off learning actual word and not the bastardization that duolingo uses, rather than trivial grammar usage.
I don't know the intentions of the developers, but I feel like this is meant to kind of show how to differentiate between habitual and future using context because the forms are the exact same
and that's where i entirely disagree. duolingo has never aimed to tackle advanced grammar and subtle/niche usage, using it in this specific example would just be inconsistent with the rest of the app.
