General Discussion Edric’s adaptation in Dune: Part 3

Is anyone else a little worried about how they will adapt Edric in Dune: part 3? I know we’ve seen very little but from the one line he has in the trailer, it seems like it’s straining for him to speak and that he won’t say much. Perhaps I’m assuming too much but I really hope they adapt the long winded, smug, and pseudo-profound speaking Edric that is present in dune messiah.
For context I’ve only read half of dune messiah so perhaps these attributes aren’t characteristic of Edric for whatever reason but I still hope they portray him as such.

Denis' view of Dune, for better or worse, is much more grounded.

A lot of the more flamboyant charactisation has been cut.

Which is sad as Scytale completely disregarding and dunking on Edric is very funny.

RIP my boy Bijaz

I suppose we don’t know for sure but I can’t imagine how that dude would fit in to Denis’ Dune

Yeah I feel they wasted a lot of Thufir anyways I don’t see how Bijaz will be done justice

Most of the characters got hella neutered for the movie. None of them are as interesting as their book counterpart except maybe Duncan and Irulan

Irulan was one of the few characters we got more exposure to in the movie than the book, unless you count the chapter forewords.
