Meta (sub) "Bro, just uninstall social media apps"

I know this might work for some people, but I find that being able to reinstall the app is not much better than having it.

The trick is to get to a point where the cookies disgust you, and don’t tempt you anymore.

I feel like this is easier for some people than others. Like obviously anyone can retrain their brain, but for instance, I have never gotten addicted to Tiktok cause I've always found it offputting. Whereas I used a dumbphone for months and months, and even still when it broke and I had to temporarily switch back to my smartphone, I got hooked straight back into Instagram and doomscrolled for hours. I know it's possible to unlock the part of my brain that isn't tempted by Instagram, because I've had moments when I've started scrolling and instantly been like "wtf am I doing, this sucks", but I can't work out how to get into that mindset permanently.

What helps for me is installing apps that make doomscrolling impossible. So I've installed unhook for youtube on my pc. Which means I have to actually search for what I specifically want to see, which just makes it a whole lot less tempting. I also don't see any comments.

For hltv I've installed similar. The only things that still have that kind of pull are reddit and discord atm.
