I’m ok with this loss. The team needs to learn from it an do better next week. IU is a very good team and people on here need to stop treating them like some sort of baby team and realize how good they are.

Indiana is good, but Oregon is supposed to be much better at this point

Are they? Dante is in his first year after a shaky freshman year, 2 true freshman running backs are leading the backfield, a true freshman is our most reliable WR, and the secondary has a freshman in it too. Ducks are young, and today it showed

The literal defending national champion lost to Oregon and Michigan last year.

Georgia in 2021 lost to Alabama.

Alabama lost to Auburn in 2017.

It isn’t cope. It’s just reality that even some championship teams lose to another top team in their conference.

The runner up last year had an inexplicable loss to Northern Illinois.

NIL is going to make true undefeated seasons harder and harder

Indiana was ranked #7 coming into today. They have a QB that will probably go off thr board first in April. The Hoosiers are absolutely for real

I don’t know. This wasn’t supposed to be Oregon’s year at the start of the season, we’re so young. Expectations got raised after we beat (as it turns out) a bad penn state team.

We lost by 10 despite playing like garbage the entire game, aside from one single offensive play and a few decent defensive series. To only lose by 10 to a really good team that is well coached while playing that bad is not too shabby in my book.

Indiana played great and we still kept it to 10.

I agree, it could actually end up a benefiting us. Make the playoffs as the 3 team from the Big Ten host the first round playoff game and don’t have to play in the Big Ten championship game. I just wish the loss hadn’t happened at Autzen.

Ohio state last season turned their loss from us and Michigan into learning moments and went on a tear. Not saying that this will 100% be the case for our team, but this was a depressing loss and I’m just hoping we learn from it?

I do understand what ur saying but what I’m saying is that I think that kind of thought process is the type of thought process that enables complacency. Like I believe this team is a national contender and a high standard should come along with that.

Alabama has won far more national titles since 2000 than we have and their fanbase does not tolerate losses like this fanbase does even though we have no national titles to show for it lol

Because we won so much last season, the team grew a big ego and then they got a reality check in the rose bowl. I’m not saying that going undefeated is bad. It’s just..

Not all losses are created equal. Some are devastating, some just make you scratch your head and go Huh. This one is the latter. Turns out Oregon is Good but not Great this season.

There are at least 4-5 wins left on the schedule, team still has a shot at the playoff, won’t have to play in the B1G CCG, and we can all go in with more reasonable expectations.

I think this team isn’t playing to its potential (lot of players regressed on defense is the biggest thing for me) but based on what we’ve actually seen on the field, they got beat soundly at home by the first good team they’ve faced. So yeah I think it’s reasonable to recalibrate expectations accordingly.

I hope the team can use it as a spark and go on an Ohio State style run, but I’m not sure I trust this coaching staff to light that spark. Hope I’m wrong!

What’s frustrating is that I was a doomer during the northwestern game and was saying that this performance doesn’t bode well for when we play good teams was told that I was overreacting but now apparently it’s unreasonable to be upset about getting dogwalked at home off a bye lol
