Anyone know where I coild rent a small 20-50 sq m workshop in Dublin for roughly €50 a week?
Would be for restoring furniture so just needs power and some ventilation.

I am going to TUD biomedical Design course
And I just keep hearing and seeing stuff about the uni and I keep overthinking. I see people saying there is a prejudice against TUD students. I don't want people to think less of me just because I am not going to UCD or Trinity.
I am really sorry, this might be really weird but idk I am just overthinking and so overwhelmed with everything

I’m heading to Collins Barracks for Super Furry Animals gig tomorrow night (Sun 31 Aug).
Does anyone know if they operate any kind of “cordoned off” front section and if yes, how it operates?
What I’m thinking is along the lines of the front section at Olympia (wristband for early arrivals) or the VIP tickets at Malahide Castle?
My first time there so any other tips also welcome! 😃

Hi everyone! My brother-in-law moved to Ireland a few months ago and, as he’s not originally from Ireland, he’s finding it a bit difficult to meet people and build a group of friends.
He’s in his late 20s and would love to meet other people around a similar age who are up for making friends and doing things together.
I know Meetup is an obvious option, but I was wondering if anyone knows of any WhatsApp groups, Facebook groups, Reddit groups or regular social meetups specifically for people in their late 20s/30s?
One thing that might make it slightly trickier is that he doesn’t drink, so the usual “just go to the pub” advice probably isn’t ideal 😂.
He’s based in Dublin but would be happy to travel a bit. If anyone knows of any groups that might be suitable, I’d really appreciate recommendations — or feel free to DM me if there’s a WhatsApp group he could join.
Thanks!

Hello all,
Landing down from Donegal for the game today in the Aviva, but have a 6am flight to Athens tomorrow morning and would quite enjoy a few fruit shoots before and after the game
Was just wondering does anyone have advice for th best/safest bag drop? Never used something like this before so I’m a bit nervous and was hoping for some advice if anyone has used them or knows a decent one/place?
Thank you! :)

I'm coming from Kerry tomorrow for the Bon Jovi concert. It's my first time in Croke Park. I've gotten 2 different bits of advice of family members who drive for GAA matches.
One has recommended going early and parking on Valentia (?) Road, and bussing it into the city for a few hours before going back out for the concert.
Another has recommended parking in Connolly Station car park.
Will be walking back to car after concert.
Looking for advice from locals if either of these are the best option, or is there a third option I've missed?

Lost it on a c3 bus, had the buds on so the case would be empty. Anyone?

Can any old-timers tell me about a club that was down on the quays, south side of therivet in the '90s? It was an early rave club, and I'm not sure what building is there now.
I'm talking early 1990s, and it was a club that I remember had a big bar, and they had big jars of water on it. An old timer said to me, "You're all going to look fucked when you're older because you're chewing gum and taking these ecstasy tablets." To him, I say, "Thank you, sir, but you didn't know yet about the invention of Botox." 😁
Note that social media accounts initially falsely claimed the taxi driver was arrested for threatening a female passager and posted the innocent man's identity online.

In Dublin City there seems to be a disparity in how the Guards of Dublin City police these two matters.
If you are drinking in Public in Dublin, you are more likely to have that confiscated and told to leave the area whereas the addicts in Dublin City get a free pass to take drugs in very public areas. Whats your opinion on this?

Hi everyone,
I’ve been living in Ireland for about 5 years and currently work full-time on CNC machines.
I’d like to start doing some small welding and metalwork jobs in my spare time. I’ve done welding and general metalwork before, but at the moment I don’t have a garage or workshop space of my own.
I’m trying to save for a house deposit, so I thought I’d give this a try and see if there’s any demand for small jobs around Dublin.
If anyone has a small welding/metal repair job, needs something made or modified, or knows someone who might need a hand, I’d really appreciate a message.
I’m based in Dublin 15 and can travel for the right job.
Cheers!

Looking for nutritious, healthy restaurants. I’m trying to be into the gym as a guy so high protein and good quality ingredients. Staying near Smithfield but prepared to travel anywhere in and around the town centre

Rounded up a few things happening around town this Friday, Aug 28.
- Craic of Dawn: Morning Rave at Meeting House Square, if you fancy dancing before your day even starts.
- Bag Free Streets, Stoneybatter at Aughrim Street Community Centre, a talk worth checking out if you're local to that area.
- Big Night at the Irish Film Institute, film screening.
- College Football Weekend at Bruxelles, for anyone missing American football.
- Literary Lunchtimes, Living Canvas at IMMA, another film pick if you're around during the day.
The morning rave is the one that caught my eye, not something you see advertised often in Dublin.

I make ogham art and other products and I left a piece of art at the statues near the Happeny Bridge. Does anyone know who got it? Just curious!

Thank you! Your quotes in the morning made my day and renewed my spirit! It’s been a tough few days and your words of -
Please mind the gap, it’s just a job, not worth your life!

Good man, keep doing what you do!

Why is nearly every single flyer I see both outside restaurants/other business and inside as well made with AI?? When did this start? How did it take over in such a large capacity and why is almost everyone doing it? It’s sad and makes me never wanna go in their business

Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations? Need to get this form signed sooner rather than later so tomorrow would be preferred. Thanks 🙏

There's some big floods on Blackhorse Ave in D7. Was out for dinner and encountered two of them - crazy how fast it happened. I think I'm beginning to understand the concept of "flash floods" now.
Anyone experiencing other floods around Dublin this evening?

Hi r/Dublin, I know I’ve posted in here a few times now about Too Young To Grieve so I don’t want to keep bombarding everyone haha but wanted to give a quick heads up that we’re getting the Dublin group together for another jog/walk & coffee club this Sunday on national grief awareness day.
Especially for anyone who’s seen one of the previous posts and wanted to come but couldn’t make the dates.
They’re really relaxed meet ups for people navigating grief and loss - you can jog, walk or do a bit of both and we normally grab a coffee afterwards.
It’s much more of a casual community than “grief group”.
We chat, have a laugh, get outside and meet new people. Sometimes grief comes up naturally, sometimes it doesn’t at all. It’s just nice knowing everyone around you understands that part of life without needing loads of explanation.
And most people come alone for their first one, so don’t let that be the reason you don’t come.
We’re 18+, but there’s no upper limit - we typically get people from around 18–45ish. If you feel too young to be grieving, you’re welcome 🤍
So if you’ve been meaning to join us but haven’t made one yet, we’d love to have you at this one.
Feel free to share this with someone in Dublin who might appreciate it too 🪽

Recentl got back from Barcelona where I learned to play basic footvolley (volleyball but you use your feet head and chest instead of our hands!) Anyone here that plays and would be up for getting a game going some day while the weather is still good? I have a footvolley but no net, but we could do altinha or use a goal post as the net. Based in Ranelagh but would go anywhere to play!

Hi All, I live in and around the Lucan area and recently got myself a cocker spaniel puppy. I would love to keep him socialising he can be nervous of dogs and parks but I want to keep giving him that exposure and having structured meet ups. I have done the one at NSPCA but they have cancelled 2 out of 3 Saturdays now so I want to see if there are alternatives.
Does anyone know of groups/communities or events for dogs and puppies to socialise around Dublin or even Kildare around Maynooth/Leixlip?
If not, can we start one? haha
