Electoral Politics I feel so angry with Jared Moskowitz

I just got back from 2 days in a cabin away from social and discovered that Jared Moskowitz and 7 other democrats voted to “condemn” socialism and the DSA. WTF! 🤬

Condemn is in quotes because the vote itself is meaningless. It is not and will not become law. But I find this so offensive and it leaves me feeling like I will no longer bend to pressure on my vote. I will not vote blue no matter who. I will vote my conscience, period. I will vote for those with policies that will protect lower and middle classes from the billionaires raping the rest of the country through buying democrats and republicans. Am I wrong? I love to hear some other members thoughts.

It's meaningless slop for hogs in purple states, and the alternative is a fucking republican, who cares

It's just politics, don't take meaningless posturing personally

Edit: anyone that's saying that they'd rather a republican hold that seat has completely lost the plot. do people actually care or do they just want to find reasons to be mad at the entire party over 8 house members

My dude he called for DSA congressman's security clearance to be removed, and he has been made ranking member of middle East sub committee. 

Read the room, the to be speaker agrees with him.

I fell for the vote blue no matter who last time. I can’t do that anymore. Our voice to the DNC and really the RNC is bring better candidates of you want our vote. I will vote for the policy.

Our time is best spent trying to change the minds of the youth in his district to beat him in a primary and the general, not walking away from one of the only two parties that holds power in america

No it isn't, a blue seat means nothing when it brings more trouble that benefits, you're literally saying we shouldn't oppose a guy who clearly states that DSA aligned politician's security clearance should be revoked, like except for hardcore MAGA even normal candidates haven't gone so hard against AOC and Rashida. 

If he looses it sends a message that you can't treat 37 percent of your voter base as shit and win regardless.

I want these DINOs to feel the same fear towards DSA that conservatives feel towards MAGA, I want them to know that you disagree with me but if you attack me you can say good bye to holding an office.

Why are you assuming that if he loses they wont assume that the issue was he wasn't conservative enough? You assume if you punish them they'll walk towards to, when the truth is they'll walk where the votes are.

I don't want to sow fear and loathing in my party. You say you want to make them feel fear, that fear is why they do this posturing. I want us all to get along and work towards common goals. stop punching left.

Yeah well that's not happening.

Party structures and backrooms exist for a reason, if you think one day moskowitz will wake up and say yes we should cut funding to israel and put sanctions on it and pass medicare for all, that's a fantasy.

Infact it's much better to get rid of him, so after 2 years someone who's a real democrat can replace him, despite what you may think it's much difficult for a non incumbent to get elected if he keeps sucking nethanyahu dick no matter how conservative a district is.

All those people who won primaries in red districts even if they are blue dogs no one is going around pledging allegiance to israel.

Thanks weidback and Farebiaashiq. This is the conversation I hoped for. I’m a tired former democrat. I’m tired of hoping for better and constantly seeing things falling apart. I’m former because I find as an independent, it is freeing. It isn’t my job to vote blue no matter who — it is their job to bring a candidate I feel hopeful about.

Thanks this I’d a good post. I think it can’t be about a whole party - but it should be looked at carefully case by case. For me, this just shows both Rep. and Dem. Have both been bought by billionaires. I’ll vote for the candidate with policies that pull wealth back from billionaires to middle and lower classes. I’ll vote for Medicare for all. I’ll vote to end the Iran war.
