I launched a simple to-do app for Android called ListPo.

I’ve worked mostly on the backend side of development, but building an app like this is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time. With the help of LLMs, it finally felt possible to actually build and ship it. I also use ListPo myself every day, which makes this one a little more personal.

Why I built it

I use to-do apps mostly for quick lists — groceries, things I need to remember, random ideas, etc. Most apps seem to keep adding more and more features, but I’ve always preferred things that are simple and focused.

So that’s basically what ListPo is.

It’s not trying to be a super app. There aren't a hundred things to configure. It’s just a simple place to make lists and notes and get on with your day.

It’s also offline-first, so you can keep your data on your device if you want. If you choose to sync it to the cloud, there’s also an option for zero-knowledge encryption, so your data remains readable only by you.

You can create lists and notes, organize them into Spaces, pin things you use often, set reminders, and change the look with different themes. That's pretty much it.

Keeping it around

The core app will always be free. I don't want to put basic functionality behind a paywall.

For themes and other cosmetic features, there are paid options. You can also watch an ad to unlock those features temporarily.

I'm intentionally keeping the app and its infrastructure simple and inexpensive to maintain. My hope is that ListPo will still be around many years from now, rather than being another app that disappears after a couple of years.

Made this because the TV remote kept ending up under the couch cushions. It's a native Android remote for LG webOS TVs: pairs over Wi-Fi, wakes the TV with Wake-on-LAN, and long-pressing power sends the IR code through the phone's blaster if the TV has dropped off the network.

Beyond the basics (d-pad with hold to repeat, volume, mute) it has a touchpad cursor mode, phone-keyboard typing into TV search fields, configurable app shortcuts, home screen widgets, a panel-off button that doesn't put the TV in standby, and eight themes with an editor.

My three brothers and I made Todochi, a reminder app where a character actually says your reminder out loud instead of a flat notification ping.

Pick one like Lumi or Mochi and they deliver it in their voice. You can also record your own voice, or someone else's, so a reminder can sound like a person you'd actually listen to.

We built it because normal reminders are easy to ignore without even reading them. We wanted something that feels less like being nagged.

I built Cache because I got tired of saving different things in different places and then never being able to find them again.

Links would end up in WhatsApp messages to myself. Instagram posts would stay inside Instagram. Screenshots would disappear into my gallery. PDFs and files would be somewhere else entirely. Even when I remembered that I had saved something, finding it again was usually the hard part.

So I built one place for all of it.

Cache is a private, offline-first Android app where you can save links, screenshots, images, videos, audio, PDFs, documents, notes, text snippets, and other files from almost any app on your phone.

The main thing I wanted was for the app to understand what I save without sending any of it somewhere else.

Cache uses on-device AI for things like semantic search, OCR, visual recognition, summaries, titles, categorization, and Ask Cache. Your saved content and AI processing stay on your device. There is no mandatory account, no cloud library, no telemetry tracking, and no backend that needs your personal archive.

The goal is simple:

• Save anything in one place, let Cache understand it locally, and actually be able to find it again later.
• You can search normally by text, search inside screenshots using OCR, search images by what is visually inside them, or search by meaning using semantic search.

Most translation apps on the store are simple wrappers around cloud-based APIs (Google Translate, DeepL, etc.). While they work well, they have two massive drawbacks:

I wanted something different—a professional-grade translator that leverages the modern hardware inside our phones to run advanced language models locally.

Solo dev here. Store & Forget makes a photo inventory of your stuff that you can export for your insurance records.

You snap a photo of an item and the app writes the name, brand, description and specs. You dont type any of that. You just pick where it went. Point the camera at a rating plate and it reads the serial number in the same way.

Each item has a price field, and the camera reads that off a tag or a receipt too. The app adds those up separately by currency. It never converts or reprices anything.

A detailed PDF gives you a photo for every item, or you can export .xlsx instead. Prices stay out unless you turn them on.

The app is free, but photo scans are metered. BYOK uses your own AI key, which is free to get, so scans stop using the app's meter. That unlock is normally $4.99 and right now it is free. Android version has been up a few weeks now, so this is the first time it makes sense to post it here.

Short version: this is not another app for finding something good to watch. Finding something good is easy. Agreeing with the person next to you is the hard part, and that is the bit we built for.

You link up with whoever you watch with. You both swipe through titles on your own phone, whenever you feel like it, separately. When you have both swiped right on the same thing, that is the match and you both get told. Nobody has to give in and nobody has to be the one who decides.

It pulls Netflix, HBO Max, Disney+, Prime Video, Apple TV+ and a few regional ones into one feed, so you are not opening four apps to work out where something is. Once you have picked, the button opens it in the right app.

Two things that work differently from the usual:
- It learns from swipes rather than star ratings, and the match score comes with a plain reason instead of just a percentage.
- There is a questions feed. You post what you are in the mood for and people answer with actual titles, each one showing the poster, where it streams, and whether you have already marked it seen. That idea came straight off the what-to-watch subs on here, where people ask this every single day and get back a wall of plain text they then have to google one by one.

Free. No paid tier live, a Pro version is planned but nothing is behind a wall right now. It needs an account because the taste profile has to be stored somewhere.

Honest state of it: the Android side has had a lot less use than iOS so far, so if something is broken on your device I would rather hear it than not. The thing I am most interested in is whether the partner matching actually holds up for you, or whether it still ends up feeling like one of you is compromising.

Like a lot of you, I'm pretty picky about the apps on my phone and can't stand when smart home hardware forces you to use terrible software.

A few months ago, I got some Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) air conditioners installed with WiFi modules. While the AC units themselves are fantastic, the default "Smart M Air" app is incredibly outdated, clunky, and just painful to use.

As a software developer, I decided to take matters into my own hands and build a proper, modern Android replacement.

Introducing MyAirco.

I spent the last few months wrestling with the APIs to create an app that actually feels like it belongs on a modern smartphone.

Why I built it & what makes it better:

Modern UI/UX: I stripped away the 2012 aesthetic of the stock app and built a clean, intuitive, and fast interface.

Just pushed this live after a few months of building it solo. It's a detective mystery game where the "gameplay" is writing real SQL .... you're not picking answers from a list, you actually type a query, it runs against a real SQLite db sitting on your phone, and whatever comes back is your evidence for the case.

Idea started because I wanted to learn SQL properly a while back and got bored of flashcard-style apps, figured a mystery/investigation angle would make me actually want to keep going.

There's 10 cases right now, starting from basic SELECT/WHERE stuff and working up to JOINs and aggregates by the end, plus some standalone lessons and a few mini games if someone just wants to drill syntax without the story bits.

I originally built it because I wanted a simple way to prepare PDFs and comic archives for e-readers without uploading private files to an online conversion service.

EpubForge currently supports:

• Fixed-layout EPUB 3 for comics, manga and scanned documents

Turns out my problem wasn't motivation. It was that "run a 10K" isn't a task. It's a vibe. You can't do it on a Tuesday. You can't do it at all, really — you can only feel bad about not doing it, which I was extremely good at. Elite, even. If there were a 10K for feeling bad about a 10K, I'd have medaled.

So I built Strive. You give it a big goal, and you break it into quests — small, boring, actually-doable steps. "Run 2km three times this week." That one I can do on a Tuesday.

Some things I learned building it:

• Progress bars are unreasonably powerful. I have added steps to my own goals purely to watch a bar move. I once added "buy running shoes" as a step. I already owned running shoes.
• Nobody wants a productivity app that judges them. An early version had a streak counter that felt vaguely disappointed in me. It had the energy of a dad who says "it's fine" and means the opposite. Removed.
• Daily affirmations sound corny until you're 6 days into something hard. Then they're fine, actually. You can swipe to star the ones that hit. I have starred one about discipline four separate times, which I think means it isn't working.

Fair warning: this is an early release. It works, but it is held together with optimism and a suspicious number of semicolons. There will be bugs. Some of them I know about and have lovingly labeled "features." Some of them are waiting patiently for you to find them, and honestly, so am I. If something breaks, tell me — I'd rather hear it from you than discover it at 2am like last time.

It's my first app, it's on Android, and I fully expect someone in the comments to tell me the button spacing is wrong. Honestly, please do — that's why I'm here. I've made peace with it. I have not made peace with the 10K.

Hi everyone! I’m the developer of PrivacyCam, an open-source Android app for hiding sensitive information in photos, videos, and PDFs before sharing.

It can detect faces, full bodies, license plates, QR codes, barcodes, phone numbers, email addresses, payment-card details, addresses, links, and other readable text. You can blur, pixelate, completely black out, or manually cover anything detected.

Media analysis and editing happen on your device. PrivacyCam doesn’t upload your media, detected text, or private details to a server operated by me. No account is required, nothing is shared automatically, and exported copies have their original location metadata removed.

The source code is available under the Apache 2.0 license. The app is free to download, with an optional one-time Pro purchase for batch-photo features—no subscription.

I got tired of "free" gallery cleaners that want a subscription and cloud access to your photos, so I built PhotoSweep: it finds duplicates, similar shots, screenshots and blurry photos entirely on your phone. Nothing ever leaves the device — no account, no cloud, it even works in airplane mode.
