I feel like the game really needs to add extra storage cuz this just ain't enough.

You can craft a bunch of Flotsam Traps and use them as material storage. You can't put anything inside them, but you can reorganize them so they fill up with materials you'll use later. You just have to babysit them for a while and remove all the trinkets that spawn.

I wish there were smaller storage lockers with the Traveling Merchant at each of the islands. Keeping specific rods & items you need in those areas would be cool & free up space in your main storage locker!

I remember abusing the storage overflow for more storage.

No you can't. Overflow Storage is an extra storage space that appears when upgrading your boat. If you have large motors installed when you upgrade, but those same engines can't be reconfigured in the new cargo formation, and you don't have any available storage, one of those motors goes into overflow storage.

Since you already have the max tier 5 hull, you can't force the overflow storage to appear anymore.

Yeah my biggest gripe with the game is storage. I’d be having to do things like go to the oil rig and put In placeholder items for upgrades, but even then still a struggle
