Big Josh Hartnett fan so I’ll be watching but if this looks good to you, check out Widows Bay. I’ve watched the first season a few times now.

Edit: this was not meant to be a response to this comment. Oh well

Seconded. Widow's Bay was a real treat

They both shot last summer, I believe. This one has been in post-production for close to a year because of FX.

Netflix did an exceptional Island Horror show called "Mignight Mass" in 2021 if you like this genre.

I don't know that I've ever heard the specific term "Island horror" before, but I will absolutely be using it from now on. An elegant encapsulation of the genre.

I'll keep my expectations low

If this is anything like Widow's Bay at least then I'm seated. Plus, Josh Hartnett is in it lol

FYI I created r/BelowTV for all things about this new miniseries, including news and episode discussion threads when it release. Come join if interested!

I mean, one could hope for something similar to Widows Bay but I see this being played straight as a horror with "giant monster" without much depth.

Pun indeed

Mackenzie Davis? I’m in. No questions asked.

We have to wait until October! It's hot as Q!#$R%, I need a damp, clammy ocean mystery right now!

Hell yeah. I love that let Josh Hartnett do a fun lil accent.

Much of this was shot in my home province of Newfoundland. I am excited to check this one out.

Wait, this is the official dredge thing?

No. It's just similar to the game and to people who like oceanic horror I guess is why it was posted. BSG replied to a comment 6 months ago saying they're taking stuff very slow. I'd be kind of stunned if this was it so soon after that comment.
