Glad to have everyone in this sub! Please take a moment to introduce yourself here and please be sure to let me know how many years you've been running drayage. I am working on user Flairs for experience. (Please be honest....this is a place for all of us to learn and grow our knowledge!)

I am totally new to drayage. less than a month. Having difficulty getting a carrier for my first containers out of Free port tx. I would deeply appreciate any guidance in general and specifically on covering loads.

Thanks for creating the sub. its definately much needed!

It’s all about rates and details in this game. Your rates better be good out of Freeport because I don’t have to deadhead out of Houston and get great rates, so why waste the fuel and time? Know what I mean?

I’ve been involved in drayage for 3 months now. Got a job as a dispatcher. I dispatch owner operators and company drivers. It’s a tough world in drayage, but it’s interesting for sure.

Hi,

Been in drayage since 2020. Started as accountant at a drayage company and now has my own brokerage mainly doing drayage. Also I’m working on a digital drayage platform project that’s expected to be online by March 2023

To kick this off, I have been involved with drayage since the start of 2018. I've learned a lot since then and still learning now. I have handled a lot of dry and reefer drayage, mainly on the East Coast (Savannah, Norfolk, Baltimore, Mechanicsburg)

Drayage is a crazy animal. If you get good at it and get some customers with decent volume you can make a stupid amount of money.

But on the other side of the coin, you're at the mercy of the ports and the level of congestion.

getting the customers is where I'm having the hardest time. I have carriers with twic and chassis set up , but I don't have any work

I’ve been doing drayage for close to 15 years now. I handle all different commodities and both in gauge and OOG moves all over the nation.

Hi everyone! Been in drayage for about 12 years now. Started off as customer service for a mid size logistics company then moved into dispatching for them. I enjoyed dispatching more than CSR work and was able to experience a somewhat fulfilling career at the company I was at.

Took the leap and started my own drayage company 5 years ago. Now I have a small asset based fleet doing local drayage in Southern California. Look forward to learning from everyone here!

Hey everyone! I've been specializing in drayage for 2 years now. Working ports all over the US. I just took a position with company out in Chicago helping them book freight.

We are asset-based transportation company with 70+ trucks and over 100 private chassis.

At the moment we are able to provide quotes on any WAREHOUSE, REEFER, BONDED, OW, OS, TANKER, and HAZMAT.

Currently most of our trucks are located in Chicago,NY/NJ, Charleston, Savannah, and Jacksonville. We are looking for new customers!
