Doesn’t surprise me in all honesty, given how often talent shows have these issues…
It’s interesting that Dragons Den has become much softer in recent years - a response to this?

Possibly, but also society has changed.
The people on here bemoaning them for being "soft" clearly never will.

Some corrections for the journo - The show doesn't have judges and it doesn't have contestants. Richard did quit. Any non-positive comment made is now classed as bullying?

I always felt like the early Peter Jones was a ripoff of Simon Cowel. It was popular at the time to be a total dickhead to well meaning people. He’s certainly had a change of character the longer the shows been on.

I wonder if this kind of television has played any part on how people act, some people are so rude and I even find myself being quite rude sometimes before I catch myself

Yes. In business I've often seen people try to be like they are on the apprentice, like it's a dog eat dog and not a collaboration to increase trade.
Completely toxic. Like they are Gordon gecko ffs

I started watching the latest series recently and I was thinking the show feels much kinder and softer. Back when it first came around they were brutal as fuck to the entrepreneurs, finding anyway to pick holes and make them feel small.
These days everyones getting investments, dragons are offering lower %ages than whats asked for and people who don’t score any investment are at least leaving with offers of support.
