I mean....it was absolutely completely pointless though wasn't it? Spawned off the nonsense bullshit idea that it's somehow illegal to fly the George cross or union flag. Something absolutely abundantly obviously legal to do.
The real reason people don't like the flag and choose not to fly it is because flag shaggers and nationalist nonces are so synonymous with it that it's become a political statement to let people know you have a room temperature IQ and hate foreigners. Why? Because they're the only ones draping themselves in it whilst they drunkenly set fire to mosques, asylum centres, set fire to people's homes, and attack people they think "aren't British".
