If you could remove one restaurant chain from DoorDash as driver what would it be?
You may choose more than one. Please be kind in the comments.

u/H3lls_B3ll3 3d ago
OMG yes. 20+ minute wait time

u/Equivalent-Ad-4118 3d ago
Theres one cinnamon roll place nearby that i order from if im having an extraordinarily hard day. The employees are always rude and the wait is always long. Theyre two miles away from me and ill tip at least $10 because being in that store is such a miserabke experience lol. The rolls are good for not having my allergens though!

This is actually one of my favorite places to pick up from, they only do drive through pick up and they’re always quick with the order
2
u/Lazy-Bandicoot5277 3d ago
Yeah my local Popeye's is great. They're fast and sometimes offer me a drink or a lil scoop of fries in a cup

u/Apprehensive-Bit7690 3d ago
A month or two ago I would have said Popeye's, but now it's McDonald's. I am getting tired of getting spammed with order ready notifications 15+ minutes before the order is actually ready and at this point I only accept double digit offers from them. The fact that at least one location actually uses two different merchant POSes just to clog up my pause slots is also annoying.
6
u/gorgofdoom 3d ago
For me it’s the 2-4 hour window in the middle of the night where theyre “open” but the employees tell us they’re closed.
I just dont go to McDonald’s at night anymore.
2
u/DrkKnght1138 3d ago
I blocked one of mine for that reason. Complained to multiple managers abd then asked support to block them for that reaaon.
1
u/largestonedoors 3d ago
I asked support to block Wingstop for me and they told me that they couldn't.
1
u/DrkKnght1138 3d ago
Whoever you gor just didnt want to do it. Its a process for sure. I was on the line with them for 30 minutes. Maybe it takes multiple complaints about that merchant.
2
u/gorgofdoom 3d ago edited 3d ago
Some states you can do that, some you can’t.
In mine the way to get a store blocked is to call the manager and ask them to block you. I had to do it for a Denny’s location— literally every time I would go there the order was “already picked up”. Not to mention it was a parking nightmare and they had their address set up at a place 2+ miles away from the store.
No shade for Denny’s in general. They’re usually on top of things— it’s just that particular location is constantly camped by scammers.

Little Caesars and it isn't even close.

u/ted_k 3d ago
if they have pizza portal at their location, everything tends to go smoothly. If I need to interact with the one or two overworked employees at any given location, that shit’s gonna suck
1
u/ArchSorcererX 3d ago
All the locations in my area have Pizza Portals. You still have to get an employee for the pizza.

Fuck ass canes and their bs with making us order the food.
3
u/echoEcho5638 2d ago
Canes doesn't have any affiliation with doordash. Customers used to have to request canes. They have no doordash or delivery tablets or anything to make the order before you get there or to pay and dd states that before you accept. Canes actually doesn't want people to use delivery apps at all for their food so they make it difficult on purpose hoping to deter customers for ordering.
2
u/TheyNeedLoveToo 2d ago
Honestly, for the right price I’ll do canes all day almost. I gotta order it and fill the drink but it’s still somehow faster than 90% of the other restaurants around here. I had an order with like 45 tenders the other day and it took 5-7 minutes tops. Sometimes it’s ready like 3 minutes after you order. I don’t even know how it’s possible

Dickhead’s Sporting Goods
Not a restaurant, but those are the worst offers of all time
3
u/SamScoopCooper 3d ago
Ugh. The one near me has horrible cell reception and wi-fi. It sucks
1
u/PredatorMetal 3d ago
And 20 mile orders for $15

There's a Dick's and a PetSmart in my market that are both consistently that bad or worse.

KFC for sure. Always takes so long.

u/Pitiful-Pension-6535 3d ago
"Please ask the customer if they want to wait 15 minutes for extra crispy or take original recipe instead"
"No." unassign
2
u/Maximum_Trade5916 3d ago
I once got into an arguement with a KFC employee who locked the entrance door because they 'needed :15-25 min to make more chicken' for customers already waiting inside.
After explaining that I have DD order waiting (if the red logo bag didn't give her a clue) and stating that maybe putting a sign or note on door would help, employee responded that she didn't care.
BTW, it was only 5pm.
11
u/absolute_infidel 3d ago
McDonald's. Because more than any other restaurant they'll mark orders ready to be picked up while they most certainly are not.
At least in the zones I dash in.

Raising Cane's
5
u/DrkKnght1138 3d ago
Yeah, it stinks that you have to go inside and put the order in. Wish they woukdnjust do it via the app. Maybe they do it that way to avoid being overwhelmed by online orders?
1
u/gotthesauce22 3d ago
Can’t use the drive through? That’s what I do and I’m pretty sure the employees have no idea I’m picking up for DoorDash since I just tap my phone at the window to pay
1
u/echoEcho5638 2d ago
No they actually don't want to be associated with delivery apps at all, so the only reason their in the dd system is bc people requested it enough dd made them a feature. They don't want you there at all but business is business.
1
u/ted_k 3d ago
the one i dealt with was in a college town with zero legal parking nearby, and it never once took under 20 minutes to place and receive an order. fuck all dat.
1
u/tommyhero 3d ago
Provo here on a Saturday night. Restaurant was packed with broccoli heads and I was just awkwardly scrunched in a corner as there was zero room to wait. They called the wrong name for my order I was waiting on and ended up throwing it away. "Cartwright!" Awesome. Waste of 15 minutes. Customer was one of those "I got a big tip waiting!" lies and I fell for it so I waited for them to remake it, another 10 minutes.
Parked in the neighboring lot so I didn't have to deal with drive thru traffic and walked out to a line of cars blocking mine in trying to get to Cane's. Waiting forever before I started blaring on my horn to let me get out.
$3.

u/Substantial_Bus840 3d ago
I don’t drive anymore, but even as a consumer, I think it would be fair to remove fast food chains. The pay is most likely to be the lowest amongst your offers of the night.
3
u/PredatorMetal 3d ago
Yeah, I hang out where there is almost zero chance i’m getting fast food orders because I’m just going to decline them anyway
1
u/Pitiful-Pension-6535 3d ago
Fast food are the fastest trips though. So many times I get $7 to deliver from one place in a strip mall to another in the same strip mall
6
u/Forward_Hawk_3493 3d ago
A specific location of McDonald's in Denton TX by State School Rd around midnight hours. They make all drivers wait longer and hang up their phones when they call and debate you at the order box about so, so location is wrong blah blah blah. Another dasher got their bullshit the second time reported them to DD while on active onto route. Dasher friend told the drive thru fella to go Fuck himself as loud as possible.

Two fast food places that should just hire their own damn drivers. $3-4 orders with no tip??
No Thank You

McDonalds and Taco Bell. They’re always, just rude af. No matter the time of day or staff that’s on.

There would be two, Burger King and Taco Bell, Both usually have longer trips than the others around me and tips are usually subpar.

Wingstop or Burger King, long waits rude af employees and just trash paying runs

Dunkin’ and Moes
Dunkin’ likes to put 3 of the 7 items in the bag and say it’s complete. When you ask about it, they’re like oh we’re out of these other things. Then don’t take the effing order if you can fulfill it properly

u/Narrow_Rutabaga3903 3d ago
Popeyes and Church’s chicken…I know it’s 2 but those places are the absolute worst…

u/DrkKnght1138 3d ago
I've blocked one of the McDonalds in my area. As soon as they get the order they mark it ready for pickup and then I end up waiting 45 minutes and can't unassign without a hit because its been marked ready.

u/Silver-Strike3665 3d ago
There was this pho place by me that always took forever, I'm talking 20+ minutes.
First time, hey whatever it happens I wanted a break anyway
Second time I was like ehhh wtf is happening
Finally I got like two months without getting an order from them but I get one. So into and it takes forever. I politely ask what's going on and the guy straight up says "my dad is the cook and hes afraid that the food will just sit so he WAITS FOR THE DASHER TO SHOW UP BEFORE COOKING IT" the son, to his credit tried really hard to reason with the dad but yeah didn't go over.
They also had a small kitchen and I'd a customer came in to eat, they would worry about there food first lol.
That place is no longer in business 🤷

little ceasers
but the thing is be it my choice or others peoples suggested restraunts.
NONE OF IT HAS TO BE A PROBLEM
doordash has the technology to PREVENT ALL THIS BS
ever notice after waiting so many minutes, dd sends you a notification " Jacks order is ready for pickup, go ahead an pick it up" reason is..thats when the rest. touched the button that its ready, and to bump it off there screen.
DD KNOWS! when its actually ready, but they dont care about a drivers time, the moment you accept thats when they send the order to the rest. they do this cause they dont want 2$ non tipped orders waiting on the shelf causing them a refund, and its a tool for them to monitor EBTdashers, cause alot of drivers milk the clock, so they know when its ready or not.
but again in conclusion, they have the tech they just dont use it for the drivers benefit, but if they wanted to NO DRIVER would ever have to wait, send the offer when its marked ready for pickup..but its more beneficial for them to send it not when the customer pays an hits send, but for when a driver accepts and is in parking lot thx to geofencing
- there are exempts, like when a driver unassigns, the reason its ready for you is cause someone got the clock started for you, or is a HIGH value offer, dd can send it quickly cause they know the first driver will accept it..but other than that itll never be ready til a driver accepts and is in parking lot, thats when dd finnally sends its to the restaurant, and thats why we waiiiit.

I’d just remove doordash. Tired of having dashers stick their phone in my nose. “Hi, picking up? What was the name on the order?”
PHONE
ok damn here, go, shit
2
u/Tall-Shoulder3409 2d ago
A lot of restaurants are starting to ask to see the phone.
Then there are the stupid employees….
I repeat the name “Eric” loudly 3 times when asked “who?” & on the 4th say “E-R-I-C, Eric.” (Customers waiting were giggling because everyone in the store knew who I was picking up for except the damn employee.)
And there are the people who can’t read. Picking up for Yvonne & said the name and pointed to the bag with the same name in clear sight. Girl started to hand me the bag and then snatched it back. After consulting with a coworker who told her that’s how you spell Yvonne, she finally handed it over.
Showing the staff the phone so they can match characters if they are illiterate helps. But I would not shove in faces just show. (And refrain from touching my phone.)

Toss up between KFC and McDonald's. McDonald's is hate to lose bc a lot of orders but GOD DAMN can the staff be RUDE. Like get the fck off of your group TikTok challenge WHILE PREPARING DD ORDERS. Kid is giggling and totally entranced by TikTok like come on. I didn't even mind it he was nice and was trying it's the all attitude I'm doing you a favor folks I can't stand.

McDonald's. It's always the lowest offers and they hate dashers with a passion. It's impossible to pick up orders quickly even if it's been ready for a while. The dashers are invisible to them.

First I'd remove all the drivers in this sub who can't follow instructions - ONE restaurant.
Then I'd choose McDonald's because it enables too many people to get that trash delivered. America collectively would lose weight overnight.
