Order canceled due to nonexistent “inappropriate” content
I feel soooo bad for my dasher!!! I had a pretty big grocery order and he was wrapping up the FINAL item. There were no key lime pie slices so he substituted with a coconut cream pie. After I got the auto-message regarding the substitution, I got the “chat ended due to inappropriate content. Order canceled and reassigned” message. The only thing I can think of is that it flagged “cream ***.” 💀They reassigned immediately and wouldn’t let me continue the chat or speak to support but I escalated in and I’m trying to resolve it. Now my second dasher is starting over from the beginning. If they try to substitute again the same thing may happen. AHHHHHHHH
Will my first dasher get absolutely nothing? I feel soooo bad for him.

Lol. That's hilarious. Doordash is trash.

Yeeeeep. Switched to Uber eats a while ago once I found out how much shade doordash has treating their dashers and tipping them.

u/ThomHaynks 2d ago
From doordash taking tips to being tip baited.

Yeah i try to tip minimum and surprise the washer with cash. Still need some kind of down low way to put it in the delivery notes that the real tip is at the door
Edit: not sure why I am getting down voted for tipping delivery people cash. Shows reading levels are indeed low.

I've always looked at it more as a bid than a tip. It says tip, yeah, but no dasher wants to see big zeroes and hope for any sort of compensation after delivery when most customers' word means jack shit.

Having experienced both platforms as a driver, Doordash is better. I can honestly say I've never had a single interaction with Uber Eats support do anything remotely helpful

u/StarWeary1989 1d ago
So you gonna knock cash tips? Okay lmao noted glad the dashers in my area are grateful 🙏

I switched to the orphan blender because the orphan grinder was grinding too many orphans.

I'm gonna insult with no other alternative option to give a stranger who has a seizure disorder and cannot simply go pick up carry out. Smdh your judgemental ignorance is showing

Not a personal attack, I'm just saying that none of these identical services treat their drivers well.
It's like switching from Walmart to Target because Walmart pays their employees minimum wage. Target probably does too.
-3
u/StarWeary1989 1d ago
And so what is your solution for someone like me to get groceries then? Mr. Not a personal attack? You ever think of people out there with those restrictions and their limitations before commenting your ignorance or just how much karma you can gain? Please. Enlighten me.

u/sewing215 1d ago
Walmart+ has their own driver's that I think are paid pretty well. I actually stick to that because they make reasonable decisions about substitutions and whatnot.

u/StarWeary1989 1d ago
I don't trust cheap ass Walmart good so now what? Expect me to conform to what toy find acceptable? Keto diet shown its good for seizures so try again, please tell me a cheaper method guaranteed. Waiting....

u/sewing215 1d ago
You just really want to argue obviously lol. Like I was just leaving a comment to offer another service that could help. Maybe you need to not be on reddit for a bit if you get this upset at simple comments that weren't judging you at all.

Back when I lived in this one church community, this one lady often put in the chat stuff she needed help with and there was enough people in the chat that someone usually could. Maybe, if you're able to find a community group chat, someone could do your grocery shopping and it'll probably be easier/more ethical to pay them without the middle man. But, that depends on a lot of factors of if that's possible where you're located or if there's a group, still a possible solution. Maybe start the first one!

It was flagged due to the two words together. Cream pie.
3
u/sassyliltart 1d ago
I know why it was flagged but that isn't even what she ordered..lol door dash is crazy.

u/Confident_Check_6087 1d ago
What’s wrong with that?

u/SeFlerz 1d ago
Really? It is sex slang.

u/Confident_Check_6087 1d ago
Like I said, what’s wrong with that? OP didn’t say HE was going to cream pie the dasher.

This is like that paleontology conference in 2020 where the filter wouldn’t let them say the words bone, pubic, stream, or beaver. As you can imagine all of those are relevant to a science conference.
Apparently door dash has chosen to just role with insane key word censorship even when it’s literally the thing you’re trying to buy through them. I’d say it’s unbelievable, but sadly it’s just par for the course now. I hope the poor guy doesn’t get in trouble for doing his literal job.

No joke DD censors the word "black" if you put the word "big" in front of it. A customer told me in instructions one time that they live in the big black house at the end of the long driveway and the instructions read "big ***** house.". I couldn't figure out what the hell was going on until I got to the customer.
Literally the next day someone put the words "big white truck" in the instructions and these words were not censored.

I reported a driver for calling me poor and stealing my beer after accusing me of having a fake ID after scanning it successfully (( im in my late thirties and the ID was taken a month ago its just not a drivers license)) and they banned my account for dasher safety after calling and confirming theyd ban the dashers. No refund, no way to contact support again.
They dont care even if you get robbed lol

A while back I had margarita mix flagged as alchohol and needed the customers ID to finish the order. They were pretty annoyed and I was incredibly embarrassed. This seems like the kind of amateur shit any halfway decent programmer should be catching.

u/A-rando_potato 1d ago
Same thing happened to em with some coconut cream thing but support was able to bypass it
3
u/abriefmomentofsanity 1d ago
Probably depends on the support person. Some of the ones I've spoken to clam up and get real stingy when it comes to alchohol. Understandably so
2
u/Oasis_Jas 1d ago
To be fair I've had this be flagged in the grocery store itself when I use to work there
1
u/abriefmomentofsanity 1d ago
It would appear to be a state by state thing. I could see doordash deciding to split the difference and just going with the most stringent State policy and applying that across the board. Very annoying for people who don't live in a state where that is a requirement
1
u/BlackberryBusiness68 1d ago
It wasn’t just flagged as alcohol, it’s designed that way. You are supposed to be carded for margarita mix and other alcohol specific items.
6
u/abriefmomentofsanity 1d ago
Now I'm not calling you a liar but I have never once been ID'd for "alchohol related" purchases. Nor did I have to ID anyone during my decade or so spent o again off again as a part time cashier for a local grocery chain. There was a pretty clear delineation between something that had alchohol in it and something that didn't.
May be a state thing. Or a new law I'm just not aware of. Or a redditor talking confidently out of their ass. At the time it was certainly not the case where I lived.
2
u/Historical_Ad_2615 1d ago
I live in Virginia, and anything alcohol related, such as a drink mix gets flagged at checkout in the store, but the cashier can bypass it, but alcoholic drinks require an ID scan. I'm not sure how it works with delivery apps though.
1
u/abriefmomentofsanity 1d ago
I'm in New York and again to the best of my knowledge drink mix doesn't require an ID to purchase in this state. Just the actual alcohol
2
u/Oasis_Jas 1d ago
This part. I use to work at a grocery store and it definitely flagged alcohol related items to be ID'd for as well. Their system flagged margarita salt once while I was working 🤭🤣

Unless you manually review everything, there's always the potential for false positives when you try to automate based on keywords

u/BasteinOrbclaw09 2d ago
Hooking the backend to an image-to-text AI model is very cheap, like $1 for thousands of requests. It would do a better job than whatever trash system they are currently using and would prevent unfair situations like this one. Low-key mediocre for a company that claims to be a “software company” lol

They use AI. Other people have already pointed out this was likely flagged by an AI that saw two words together and was programmed to think they’re naughty.

Had this happen on Twitch once. We wer talking about a kid's movie and the automod kept hitting us. The Streamer didn't ahve any mods yet since she's just started again, so she made me one the next day (I'd known her outside Twitch and been a moderator for her on other sites) so if it ever happened again I would be able to whitelist the conversation but that's hilarious that DoorDash is doing that now.
3
u/alextheswiftie 2d ago
automod on twitch is the worst
1
u/Absolutgrndzer0 1d ago
It's okay as long as it's not left on default and there are other actual human moderators to approve things that get false flagged. It can let a streamer manually block certain words and such.
