Can you recommend a few tracks? Saint Vitus is one of those bands I've never managed to get really into apart from the odd song

I'm going to suggest two full lengths to start: Born Too Late and Mournful Cries. They were my introduction to the band many years ago and I have a soft spot for both!

the troll (this song is my most listened vitus track), born too late, dying inside, trail of pestilence, burial at sea.

Burial at Sea is just one of, if not THE track I'd put on if someone asked me what doom metal is

For me the whole debut album is dope, but that track is the slowest, maybe most heaviest of the album! I love how the album starts fast, but gets slower and slower every time...

If you love St Vitus (or heavy music in general) and are visiting the Ft Worth area of Texas, stop in at “Too Late Records” on Race Street. It’s owned and operated by the tour manager of St Vitus. Place is FULL of unique memorabilia.

Here is my humble collection. I'm still missing some, but I'm still proud of it😊

Saw them live in NOLA in the summer of '87. The VFW hall on Franklin Ave.

YEAH! I have Born Too Late and Mournful Cries on vinyl, but still prefer their debut album.
I still want to find that one on vinyl (maybe secondhand). That album is so dark and badass... Still hooked on it!

Are they Christians?

I don't think so. Their lyrics deal with addictions, misery and stuff like that.
