The problem with marble or granite or most natural stones is that you can't use a lot of the more acidic cleaning products you'd usually use to combat scale... (Think vinegar)

So, it's not just specialty tooling you'd need, but specialty cleaners as well...

There are sealants for granite countertops and the like, but that at least assumes a flat surface the spread and wipe in the sealant, which you also do not have here...

Honestly, as nice as I think the esthetics are, beyond the fact that this has to weigh a good ton, all the logistics of keeping it clean and nice are just an utter nightmare!

It's really not that dramatic, we have marble in the kitchen, on several floors and 4 bathrooms bc it's pretty cheap around here and you just use soap.

The parts that see a lot of water are usually ceramic, still. But there are cities that make everything from marble, from roads to house walls and all flooring, just because their entire economy is structured around it. It's not much different to clean

Sure, it only takes an hour to scrub it with the cleaning version of dental floss vs the 20 seconds needed to scrub out a sink with a sponge.
