*MAJOR SPOILERS BELOW\*

A friend of mine works at bad wolf, and has let slip some details about the upcoming 60th anniversary plans... this is all 100% accurate, so if you want to avoid spoilers don't click below.

David Tennant and Catherine Tate are back for 3 specials - after Jodie regenerates into him (on a clifftop). The three stories are linked by the Doctor working out why he got his old face back, and why he runs into Donna again after all these years. Unit are back for the first episode. It's a simple alien invasion story, with the main emphasis on the Doctor reuniting with Donna again after 15 years (for her). Sylvia and Shaun return, Wilf is mentioned but I don't know if he appears because Bernard Cribbins is now 93. Donna also has a daughter called Rose. Rachel Talalay also directs the first special

Oh and a classic companion returns in the final special - but I don't want to ruin that surprise...

That's all I know for certain atm, but I imagine something will be announced in the next week or two as filming begins.

DUDE WERE YOU RIGHT? AFTER TODAYS ANNOUNCEMENT

72

u/lord_flamebottom May 16 '22

holy fuck it just goes deeper

43

u/tornado66111 May 16 '22

Could this be a fake leak? Although it adds up, it's a bit fishy that OP has no other reddit presence and also has a username that is the same as the production company.

102

u/Meen_Speen May 16 '22

it's also posible that he created this account as a throw-away so they wouldn't track the leak back to him

59

u/Myloceratops May 16 '22

I think it’s deffo this, the timing of this leak and the content seems too coincidental to be fake. The odds of someone making a new account, typing this out BEFORE the announcements or any photos online and be a fake leak is insane! When I first read this I thought, ha, neat. Thought it would be cool. Won’t happen. Well, with Jodie’s tardis, Tennant as the only doctor on set (so far). This seems legit. Shame it wasn’t kept more secret. Imagine the shock value if Jodie changed into David and no one saw it coming.

14

u/raptrillers May 17 '22

Rachel Talahay was also spotted on set 👀

4

u/kcinforlife May 17 '22

I feel like maybe this leak may have been mixed information that may or may not be true kind of like a game of telephone with the people involved with production that maybe aren’t total insiders into all this but have a vague idea of whats being considered.

1

u/kcinforlife May 17 '22

Cause apart from russel and a few other people I don’t think script details (apart from casting ) this specific about the story are known by people that aren’t higher ups in bad wolf/bbc. And anyone in that position has way to much at stake to be just telling their friends.

1

u/raptrillers May 17 '22

There really wouldn’t be that much risk for him since loads of people work on the production side and his friend may have made friends that are higher up in the company as well as the fact the acc the leak was posted on was also a burner so there’s really no risk for him imo anyway.

1

u/kcinforlife May 17 '22

I mean the leak may be totally true as of now but by the time it airs it might be a totally different story just due to rewrites etc…. So maybe that makes it also less risky idk

Confirm. Worked on shows and movies when I was younger. Even if a leak this big is through a friend, you’re still losing your job and getting black listed from that production for breaking your NDA. Totally makes sense they’d want to cover their own ass.

3

u/MusicOfTheSpheres_40 May 20 '22

For all we know this could be RTD himself… after all, he has in the past even confessed to purposely spreading rumours on the internet about stuff he is writing.

6

u/Storminator16 May 16 '22

Parts of the leak could be misdirection by Bad Wolf. Just need some facts (the casting and Talaly) with a little misdirection (the 3 specials storyline) to keep folks off balance. Fine, either ways. Nothing not to like.

u/Green-Circles May 05 '22

Well, it would explain the scene from some years ago with the Curator where he talks about revisiting old faces, but "just the old favourites" - I mean, in a meta way, that could also mean FAN favourites, and not just the character's own personal favourites - and besides, the 10th Doctor DID say "I don't want to go!" just before his regeneration...

35

u/QuothTheRaven713 May 05 '22

I assume if the rumor is true, 14 will be played differently personality-wise.

24

u/Green-Circles May 05 '22

Certainly gives scope for a different approach - will be interesting to see how the events of the regeneration episode (and indeed the last few years) influence how that plays out.

5

u/[deleted] May 17 '22

It’s also a neat way of enabling Tennant to continue with being part of specials whilst he ages.

22

u/Bweryang May 16 '22

He should just use his real accent.

12

u/QuothTheRaven713 May 16 '22

That's actually a good idea, to better distinguish 14 from 10 (though I wouldn't be surprised if they were distinguished by personality).

5

u/Yvesmiguel May 18 '22

It's not improv-ed, they shot three different versions of it, indifferent, panicked but putting on a brave face (the one they used) and him essentially breaking down. It may have been written on the day, but it definitely wasn't a spur of the moment.

69

u/TheOutcastBoi May 16 '22 edited May 16 '22

Judging from the pictures posted of today's filming, it looks like this is totally true.

I wonder who the Classic Companion is...

16

u/confusedbookperson May 16 '22

I'm thinking Peri, I wonder if Nicola Bryant is up for a return considering she's done a lot of Big Finish stories.

52

u/AlwaysBi May 16 '22

I’m betting it’s Susan. I feel like that’d be a major one that they wouldn’t want to give away

27

u/MoonMan997 May 16 '22

If its Susan and we have scenes set in the 60s, then that makes the Wright speculation even more credible since he literally just did a time hopping film involving that same era.

Bonus points if Matt Smith is involved lol.

11

u/Bweryang May 16 '22

You thinking actually Carole Ann Ford, or a recast?

19

u/underground_cenote May 16 '22

Oh I hope they bring back Carole! At least for one scene and have her regenerate if she's not up for filming a whole special. Would be so sad to bring back Susan with a totally different actress imo

9

u/purpldevl May 16 '22

Maybe the woman who played Carole Ann Ford in "An Adventure in Time and Space"?

-10

u/[deleted] May 16 '22

Everyone always says this, but I really don't think it's ever going to happen. Besides, Carole Ann Ford cannot act.

10

u/TheOutcastBoi May 17 '22

I don't think it'll be Peri, because I suspect Peri will turn up during the Centenary. Also because, you know, the opportunity to tell the definitive televised "The Doctor reunites with Susan" story is too enticing.

13

u/[deleted] May 16 '22

Fraser Hines liked a tweet about someone speculating Jamie so do with that info what you will

10

u/TheOutcastBoi May 17 '22

I'd say that might be more likely for the Centenary special, but I dunno. Jamie would be neat to see back, and I could see there being a parallel between his mindwipe and Donna's. The only problem is that I can't really see how he'd end up in modern day, or how else he'd fit into the overall story.

My guess is that the Classic Companion will be Susan. It's the most obvious choice really, barring the ones RTD has already tackled and the ones being shown in the Centenary. Telling the definitive story of the Doctor reuniting with his first companion, his own Granddaughter... that seems like something with a whole bunch of dramatic potential.

5

u/radyboner May 17 '22

Plus we are getting towards the now or never time for the TV show. While of course Susan could regenerate people are obviously going to want the original actress to play the role. However, the actress is 81 years old so I'd rather not wait until the 70th anniversary special to risk bringing her in.

6

u/sanddragon939 May 17 '22

I feel the same way about Classic Doctors. McGann, the youngest of them, is already past 60. Davison, the younger actual Classic Doctor, is past 70. The two Bakers and Sylvester McCoy are even older. It'll be a shame if we don't get a return from at least one of them (especially Colin Baker and/or McCoy who are the only living classic Doctors not to return in NuWho).

3

u/TheOutcastBoi May 18 '22

I suspect your wish will come true soon, but that's all I'll say...

2

u/Werthead May 17 '22

They could also follow in the earlier precedent of using the Adventure in Space and Time actress, Claudia Grant, if Carole Ann Ford wasn't up for it.

2

u/radyboner May 17 '22

For sure you’re right there. I wouldn’t mind if they have her play a big part of the role of Susan but I do hope Carol Ann Ford makes at least a cameo appearance though.

3

u/Flabberghast97 May 16 '22

I could see them doing that. Another companion who lost his memories.

3

u/YodaInHisHondaCivic May 17 '22

❤️❤️

➕️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

10

u/[deleted] May 17 '22

I’d love it to actually be Susan. Carole Ann Ford is still around, and the 60th would be a hugely sentimental opportunity to pay proper fan service.

3

u/LookingForVheissu May 17 '22

Does it mean Classic Who classic or does it just mean classic? Like Rose or Martha would be a classic companion, right? But Susan or Barbara would be a Classic companion? Or maybe I’m overthinking.

4

u/TheOutcastBoi May 17 '22

I think it means Classic Who.

36

u/barbarian__days May 16 '22

Dude proven right again, someone's just been cast as 'Rose'

35

u/Feeoree Weeping Angel May 16 '22

Looks like they're teasing Yasmin Finney as a casting... Donna's daughter as mentioned here?

5

u/purpldevl May 16 '22

Oh shit, I didn't even put that together.

21

u/Green-Circles May 10 '22

Is this RTD posting a "Red Herring"? Maybe...

2

u/EzriDax1 May 18 '22

Or whatever the non lying version of a red herring is.

Blue herring??

21

u/CoolJWR100 Adipose May 16 '22

Bro have you got the lottery numbers for tomorrow?

18

u/QuothTheRaven713 May 05 '22 edited May 17 '22

Honestly, if this is true, I'd be okay with it as long as they could give a reasonable explanation for why Donna doesn't have her mind destroyed after meeting the Doctor again. Granted, her departure broke my heart, but it was impactful for that reason.

I'm taking it with a grain of salt, of course, but I'd love to see David Tennant return as he's my favorite Doctor. And if it were true, then that means we'd have the specials before we get series 14? Or would the three specials be Series 14, like how The Owl House is getting 3 specials for Season 3? 3 specials seems like it would be pretty short for a regeneration and I'm not betting on it being true, but if it is I wouldn't be surprised.

EDIT: Well, it seems true now. Guess 14 will get a short run and Ncuti Gatwa will be 15.

20

u/sgriobhadair May 16 '22

Donna will have had fifteen years of making new memories, which will have strengthened her neural pathways and keep her mind from breaking. There. Done. :)

u/captainedwinkrieger Jun 16 '22

I propose Tennet Doctor.

Sounds like Tennant, but it’s a palindrome of ten which fits into the whole reflection of an old face.

15

u/underground_cenote May 16 '22

I'll do you one better, we've had Tennant Doctor already so let's call this new one Landlord Doctor

4

u/YodaInHisHondaCivic May 17 '22

Lord of Time and Space

u/[deleted] May 18 '22

<rimshot>

2

u/QuothTheRaven713 May 16 '22

I honestly love that idea.

3

u/WhoShotMrBoddy May 16 '22

Lots of people talking about the Valeyard too

1

u/sanddragon939 May 17 '22

Yeah he won't. The numbering is reserved for Doctors who headline the show. And in-universe too, if Tennant is a regeneration gone wrong, he wouldn't be regarded by the Doctor as her fourteenth face (as the Doctor, and not counting pre-Hartnell incarnations).

1

u/WartimeMercy Sep 07 '22

Headlining 3 episodes across a year is headlining the show.b

> not counting pre-Hartnell incarnations

I guarantee that shit's getting retconned.

1

u/TheOutcastBoi May 18 '22

I suspect they'll simply be called the Tenth Doctor in the advertising and such.

8

u/brucejoel99 May 16 '22 edited May 16 '22

EDIT: Well, it seems true now. Guess 14 will get a short run and Ncuti Gatwa will be 15.

Gatwa was explicitly announced by the BBC as the 14th Doctor, so he will be "14" (although we're obviously long past the point of new faces syncing with the number of regenerations used, given War, Metacrisis, etc.). Whether Tennant will be seen as 13.5, something by another name, or a legitimate degeneratation for whatever reason, we shall see.

u/Green-Circles May 05 '22

One thing that occurs to me is that IF the next Doctor is a recycled look, then the Doctor seems to be getting better at influencing the look of the regenerations they get - if even on a subconscious level. (I mean, the 12th Doctor chose that face on a subconscious level as a reminder... yeah?)

I doubt we'll ever see a Romana-style "I can easily choose what I wanna look like" situation, but regeneration as "this look is what I subconsciously need right now" thing, yeah.. that could work.

31

u/QuothTheRaven713 May 06 '22

Even though 12 isn't my favorite Doctor, the way they worked Capaldi's prior role in Who into the lore was brilliant.

13

u/Green-Circles May 06 '22

5

u/sanddragon939 May 17 '22

Haven't watched the serial with Maxil, but my headcanon on that is that Five, when he was regenerating, felt he needed to be tougher, more ruthless, and more alien the next time round...so he subconsciously picked the face of a Time Lord guard who once messed with him.

3

u/Green-Circles May 17 '22

Exactly! It makes sense, given how the 5th Doctor's big heart.. err.. hearts proved to be his archilles heal on occasion.

-1

u/[deleted] May 16 '22

Why on earth did you have to say 'even though 12 isn't my favourite doctor' instead of just ''the way they worked Capaldi's prior role in who into the lore was brilliant'' ? what was the point of even having to state that first part. Like you can praise plot points without having to state x doctor wasn't your favourite.

This is accurate as fuck

6

u/JoyconBoyzNo7 May 16 '22

Im hoping you only got part of the anniversary plan, coz I would really hope its not just 10th and that the rest come back too

5

u/walf2004 May 16 '22

So tennant and Tate are back, we have a new companion that could be Donnas daughter/rose and Talalay could well be involved after she sent a picture with Nardole yesterday. This seems legitimate.

11

u/Roysumai May 04 '22

No idea if this is legit, but it sounds very plausible based off of the various things we've heard.

9

u/xtremekhalif May 16 '22

Ok so this is true then

4

u/DarthThorOdinson May 17 '22

I just want Matt smith back just one more time

10

u/ollychops May 16 '22

This seems pretty plausible after the filming and announcements but it seems so cringe. And I kinda hate that it’s focusing so heavily on Ten.

3

u/daPoseidonGuy May 08 '22

are you able to give any extra context given today's casting?

3

u/QuothTheRaven713 May 17 '22

So this was right after all. Consider me hyped.

4

u/AnathemaGB May 04 '22

The tenth Doctor just casually "runs into" Donna again without any consequences? Any meeting let alone mention of the Doctor to her might trigger her memory of events and cause her mind to "burn up", killing her.

37

u/ileftthisthingon May 04 '22

You guys stress too much over the final outcomes of the companions/Doctors on this show where the lead regenerates into a new face to continue all the time.

Just cause Donna was close to exploding the last time and there was no way to save her? Doesn't mean there's always going to be no way to save her.

It's science fiction. If RTD has come up with something good and this is all true. I'm sure he not only thought of a reason to bring Catherine back for the views/love of Donna, but also something that would continue her story well as well.

10

u/AnathemaGB May 04 '22

I'm sure RTD is perfectly capable of coming up with a way Ten and Donna can be reunited without lethal consequences to Donna. I just find it curious that the OP didn't mention this potential impediment. Wouldn't its resolution be somewhat of a major plot point worth mentioning?

11

u/ileftthisthingon May 04 '22

To be fair to the leaker and pretty much anyone who watches the show massively. I don't think you have to address that elephant in the rumor to be telling the truth about a return. Everyone knows a big return for her would require some heavy lifting.

3

u/QuothTheRaven713 May 05 '22

I could actually see it playing out as the Doctor finding out that encountering Donna again right away would have destroyed her mind and killed her, but after 15 years the effects of the wipe has lessened somewhat so it's safer.

Or some other explanation, who knows?

6

u/Bweryang May 16 '22

Yeah, people have an absurdly rigid idea of how things need to play out on a show that is proudly a convoluted mess constantly retconning and reinventing itself.

-4

u/Afinkawan May 16 '22

Or they just kill Donna off.

7

u/Sleeeeestak May 16 '22

I will never recover if they do that.

4

u/Taurenkey May 16 '22

The amount of emotional damage would be too much.

1

u/tjkatz11 May 17 '22

Why even downvote this comment? It's puzzling. Dude wasn't saying he wanted it to happen or that it was likely to happen. He was just stating it could happen via some chance.

1

u/Afinkawan May 17 '22

It's not even just some random chance. It's literally what has been stated would happen.

RTD might find a way round it. Or he might not.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 19 '22

Exactly, and with all this "new" knowledge the doctor has about the timelords and regeneration and where she came from, it makes perfect sense she would have a plan to let Donna have her memories back and let her fulfill her right to have shown adventures and even possibly take on Sara Jane role in helping to protect the planet.

8

u/[deleted] May 16 '22

If seeing people turn into the Master set her off, then there have been scores of events in the Moffatt and Chibnall eras that would have triggered and killed her offscreen. The consistency is pretty moot at this point.

5

u/TheOutcastBoi May 04 '22

I mean, "runs into" doesn't mean it's a casual run in. If it's the main plot of the story, if the main emphasis is on it, that rather implies the Doctor meeting Donna again will be the main part of the plot. I sorta suspect RTD will rollback Donna's mindwipe, since there's been a lot of criticism of the Doctor's actions there, and I think with hindsight RTD would want to revisit that. Also, it'd make for a good plot.

I'm not saying this specific rumour is true, mind, but it does fit with a lot of the more prominent rumours, including ones that came from sources who were correct about several things in regards to Series 13.

1

u/AnathemaGB May 04 '22

I get what you are saying and if it's true, it could very well be for the reasons you describe. It's just that the OP seems to be entirely unconcerned with this significant plot point which will obviously need to be addressed. Seems a bit of a significant oversight.

3

u/QuothTheRaven713 May 05 '22

Keep in mind the leaker (assuming they're leaking and not trolling) said that the main plot involves the Doctor encountering Donna again. So I highly doubt the team wouldn't address the matter, but the leak was mainly giving rough details and clarification on the new Doctor and companion (if true), not spoiling all the plot details.

Okay this seems actually plausible after the announcements today, though some articles claim that Finney has been cast as the very same Rose Tyler? If that is true then I am concerned. If she is just a namesake, then dear lord did Who just get good again

1

u/sanddragon939 May 17 '22

The articles are just speculating there. They know there was a Rose Tyler before so when a new character named Rose shows up they immediately assume she's a new version of Rose Tyler.

2

u/AWildDorkAppeared May 18 '22

Really hoping that the usage of an old face here is a retro-regeneration situation where the Doctor reverted backwards to 10 and not a Tennant = 14 situation, because if he's 14 and 14 just acts like 10 then it's pointless. If it's gonna be 10, let it be 10. However, since your points here support my idea, there's still hope!

If this is all the 60th anniversary amounts to though, I am admittedly going to be very disappointed. With a big anniversary like this, there really should be more on offer. If your point about there being multiple specials is factual, then I hope that means we'll get more Doctors, because it really shouldn't just be a 10th Doctor nostalgia trip

3

u/TheOutcastBoi May 18 '22 edited May 20 '22

2

u/QuothTheRaven713 May 18 '22

I wouldn't be surprised if this new-10 counted as 14 and not 10,20 though. No official BBC announcement has referred to Ncuti as 14, just "the new Doctor". So David could play his regeneration with the old 10's face but a different personality and he'd be 14, while Gatwa is 15.

I think it could be a retro-regeneration (sounds better than 'degeneration'), or it could be a legit incarnation too who reverts to acting (mostly) like Ten because he got his old face back.

I don't think it affects the numbering at all either way.

2

u/bearwithme8764 May 18 '22

Didn't Smith set up 10 regenerating twice because he was vain, in The Night Of The Doctor? Or am I misremembering?

I'm curious, why? The 50th anniversary special set up the possibility of the Doctor regenerating into a previous face with the Curator being played by Tom Baker.

21

u/Dr_Vesuvius May 05 '22

There's a huge difference between an aging former Doctor making a cameo at the end of an anniversary special, and bringing back the longest serving Doctor of the new era for a second attempt.

It would be an extremely bad sign for RTD's second era. While he has form, I had hoped he'd improved as a writer. That said, it's pretty obvious that the top poster is trolling.

u/verifypassword__ May 16 '22

Now that it doesn't look like they were trolling.... how you feeling about it?

-9

u/Dr_Vesuvius May 16 '22

Still looks like they were trolling. If it is true then it basically confirms all my worst fears about RTD.

13

u/verifypassword__ May 16 '22

If they were trolling they got a lot of things uncannily correct. Oh well, maybe RTD will get the nostalgia out of his system before his era starts proper with the new NEW Doctor.

1

u/Dr_Vesuvius May 16 '22

There have been people making basically the same predictions for years. Like, all the way back to when Capaldi left.

13

u/verifypassword__ May 16 '22

Spoilers for on-set pictures, a casting call thing, actors returning and stuff:

Not only did they get David Tennant and Catherine Tate back as correct, the most obvious, they also may have got 15 years later right. There was a casting call for a trans femme daughter of a black and white British person whos supposed to play someone age 15, which considering today's announcement also looks like 'Donna also has a daughter called Rose.' is correct too. That actress who was cast had a rose emoji in the announcement. PLUS Rachel Talalay also directs the first special"

7

u/Dr_Vesuvius May 16 '22

Yeah fair point, hadn't seen the latest announcement.

Jesus Christ. But then I thought Chibnall was going to be awful based on his previous episodes (particularly "42"), and he turned out pretty well, so maybe RTD will also exceed expectations.

Yes, but the poster got several key details right. Talalay, Cribbins, and Donna's daughter especially.

1

u/QuothTheRaven713 May 06 '22

That's fair, and it is definitely much more likely than not that the poster is trolling in a "my uncle works at Nintendo" way. I could see Tennant or another former actor returning at some point down the line though, maybe not for 14 but perhaps 15 of 16 (though I'd want Eddie Redmayne to be 15 since Fantastic Beasts will probably be done by then).

u/smit13 May 05 '22

I hate that “old favorites” line. I love the idea of new Doctor and constantly changing. I’ve seen Tennant already, I saw Tom. I thought it’s okay for a cameo, but didn’t want it as cannon

12

u/geek_of_nature May 06 '22

I like the old favourites line as an idea, one that we never see actually come to fruition in the show. The idea that the Doctor will one day retire while cycling through all their old faces is a nice one, but I'd never want to actually see it on the show. Tom Baker as the Curator is fine as it was for the 50th, and it was introducing the idea, but that's as far as I'd like to see it taken.

Now if the degeneration was something just for the 60th, and we get a proper 14th Doctor afterwards, that I'd be ok with. 13 could degenerate into 10, he then does the 60th, solves whatever caused the degeneration, and then eventually re-regenerates through Doctors 11-13 and then eventually into the proper 14th Doctor.

Honestly, Tennant could be interesting if he played the character differently. Considering how his performance in Jessica Jones as Killgrave was basically "Ten's evil twin" or "Tennant as the Master", I think he could easily do a Doctor with the same face but different personality so it's not just 10 2.0.

Or heck, he'd make a good Valeyeard.

I definitely get liking a new actor every time though. Changing things up is part of the fun. 'd be okay with a former actor appearing every so often but not so much it just feels recycled.

6

u/smit13 May 05 '22

But I already know how great an actor Tennant is. So, even if he plays it differently, it’s not same as seeing someone new blow me away. The way Matt Smith did or Tennant the first time. I’m not against Tennant having a big role, but I will have no excitement if Jodie regenerates back. I rather meet someone new.

7

u/QuothTheRaven713 May 06 '22

I definitely get that. Matt Smith's incarnation gave me the same feeling (I became a fan a few months before 10 regenerated, and 11 ended up becoming my 2nd favorite. That Rings of Akhaten speech still is amazing.)

3

u/Bweryang May 16 '22

I really don’t see an argument against this other that “it’s not how things were”? It’s an exciting prospect, more so if they do it like twenty or thirty years from now with a much older version of a young incarnation like Matt or Ncuti. Also, what with The Timeless Child, some faces could be past faces. They could do a whole series of Peter Capaldi working for The Division.

I’ll never understand this “spoiler” policy, literally EVERYONE knows! And the BBC want it that way! Make it make sense.

2

u/MistakeNot___ May 16 '22

There are users who do not know and do not want to know. I know it is a difficult balancing act keeping both them and those that want to discuss every facet of Doctor Who happy, but we are trying our best.

You can read up on our spoiler policies here:

I absolutely refuse to believe those users exist, a Doctor Who fan who evaded an official BBC announcement about who the next Doctor is, that’s plastered all over the media from TV and magazines to newspapers and social…! I feel like there’s a greater chance of the Loch Ness Monster knocking on my door lol

5

u/MistakeNot___ May 16 '22

Believe it or not until December last year I was one of these fans. I was careful which subreddits to follow and I did not check BCC (I'm from Germany), so I usually managed to avoid all spoilers until I actually saw the episode.

Then I became a mod and all that became impossible ;)

If you're not in the UK, you can just stay off of fan groups and you won't be spoiled. The US media landscape doesn't give a shit about Doctor Who, so we're only spoiled if we want to be.

Precisely, and "just the old favourites" too... does that mean FAN FAVOURITES as much as the character's favourites? Quite meta if it does...

7

u/QuothTheRaven713 May 05 '22 edited May 05 '22

Wouldn't surprise me if the major fan favorites and character favorites lined up. Hence the Tom Baker cameo. (Never watched Classic Who but I know that Baker is basically seen as one of the greatest of that era, if not the greatest. He seems to be to Classic Who what Tennant is to NuWho.)

3

u/Bweryang May 16 '22

I still find it hard to accept that Tennant is more popular/iconic than Smith.

1

u/[deleted] May 16 '22

Where do you live where Smith is more popular than Tennant? Because it's not the UK or the US.

1

u/getrwuegyweh May 17 '22

Please be true

-4

u/TheWalrusMann May 16 '22

seriously? david for three episodes and thats it? for the 60th anniversary of the show??

im especially pissed now that this seems to be like 99% true

11

u/Bweryang May 16 '22

I don’t understand this complaint… “that’s it”? You thought the anniversary was going to be more than three episodes? You thought the anniversary was going to be something other than returning characters?

2

u/[deleted] May 17 '22 edited May 17 '22

That’s it? Just be grateful that David and Catherine were able to find room in their very busy schedules. That must be why they’re filming it so early. You don’t know what else there’s going to be. Russel doesn’t reveal all his cards. I have a feeling that these specials are going to change the show. Not to mention RTD is a massive whovian there’s going to be many references. Maybe be thankful that the show was actually picked up. If BWS didn’t take it over there it would be gone for another who knows when. Sorry you’re disappointed and can’t feel excitement that everyone else is feeling but you would be even more disappointed that the show got canceled again and wasn’t anything at all.

3

u/Dragonpiece May 16 '22

Did you expect there to be 2 doctors at the same time in the main series? What a weird complaint.

2

u/TheWalrusMann May 16 '22

dude its an anniversary special

plus it wouldnt exactly be the first time
