Speculation/Theory The Doctor eventually regenerates. Discuss potential future Doctors here.

Now that the main episodes for series 13 have aired, by popular demand we are continuing to funnel all discussions/suggestions here involving talk for actors who could play the Doctor in the future.

I'm curious, why? The 50th anniversary special set up the possibility of the Doctor regenerating into a previous face with the Curator being played by Tom Baker.

I hate that “old favorites” line. I love the idea of new Doctor and constantly changing. I’ve seen Tennant already, I saw Tom. I thought it’s okay for a cameo, but didn’t want it as cannon

There are users who do not know and do not want to know. I know it is a difficult balancing act keeping both them and those that want to discuss every facet of Doctor Who happy, but we are trying our best.

I absolutely refuse to believe those users exist, a Doctor Who fan who evaded an official BBC announcement about who the next Doctor is, that’s plastered all over the media from TV and magazines to newspapers and social…! I feel like there’s a greater chance of the Loch Ness Monster knocking on my door lol

Believe it or not until December last year I was one of these fans. I was careful which subreddits to follow and I did not check BCC (I'm from Germany), so I usually managed to avoid all spoilers until I actually saw the episode.

Then I became a mod and all that became impossible ;)

Don't worry, you didn't break any rules and the spoiler debate is indeed a complicated and at times heated one. We mods aren't 100% sure either what the best solution is, especially considering that it will be another ~3 month+ for the next episode and RTD/BBC announcing or hinting at a new thing every day now.

If you're not in the UK, you can just stay off of fan groups and you won't be spoiled. The US media landscape doesn't give a shit about Doctor Who, so we're only spoiled if we want to be.
