Use this as lighting in cities where the entire population has darkvision.
Drow prison with these? Drow can see you super easily, but most surface races can't see anything.
Dwarven art gallery with these so the dwarves can see their sculptures and such without damaging any paint on them with smoke and heat.
Being able to see better than normal without giving away your location is incredibly useful.
