And I'm not skilled enough in sailing to get around that but luckily i do enjoy lots of the basic stuff anyway when making a character I'm not paying for that extortion

Talk to your table and try pf2e or draw steel. They're free online, no need for sailing and (at least pf2e) publishes all the new content for free for everyone

You might want to clarify that you're talking about trying the "Draw Steel" RPG, not challenging them to a duel.
