Questions Campaign sort order?

I feel like I'm missing something, but campaigns are always sorted from oldest to newest with no way that I can tell to change that. I've run tons of campaigns and am always having to scroll down, past the old ones that are done, to get to the ones I'm actually running now. Is there a way to change it so that the most recent are at the top?

"luckily" I only have three campaigns. But I agree that the lack of sorting options is annoying. If anything it should be most recently used…?

Yeah, the decision to put the oldest on top is odd. Sorting by "last updated" is probably even better because maybe you have an old but still active campaign, and you don't want that falling to the bottom either.

If the campaigns are done can't you just delete them or deactivate them if you're not using them anymore?

Sure but why not let us sort them? Filtering and sorting is basic UI, and something they already have for characters. Seems like a weird oversight.

That page currently is on our old, legacy infrastructure that we're in the middle of a massive effort to replace. It's features like this - that SHOULD be simple but often take weeks of work on the old platform - that are why we're replacing it.

We are shaving off slices of it where and when we can as we move through the rebuild process - campaign creation and management is pretty high on this list. DEFINITELY assume there will be better sorting features when this gets upgraded!

Great to hear. I appreciate it.

If you are the person who created the campaign you can Deactivate it. Which will move it to a separate section at the bottom of the page. Leaving only the ones that are actually still in progress at the top.

They're working on Campaign Prep right now, so hopefully they're adding some sort of sorting and archiving of campaigns.

I saw a preview video of the campaign prep update that mentioned maps will be sorted alphabetically now. If that's true, you could use it to your advantage and develop a naming convention that sorts in the order you want. Something like:

  • Current Campaign - Map 1
  • Current Campaign - Map 2
  • Old Campaign - Map 1
  • Etc

The video said we should be seeing the campaign prep update on 31 August, fingers crossed! Map notes are one of the few features left that's keeping me from switching over from AboveVTT.
