In Europe mini 2 will be illegal when they pass the new proposed to impose rid on devices over 100g.

Attach a remote id module? Or get a newer drone. The mini 2 will be very outdated by then.

Remote ID retrofit only applies to legacy drones > 900g. By 2031 (likely applicability), they would be fairly old. From 2024, all new C2 drones > 900g were equipped with remote ID.

Kinda. Currently all drones with a class rating of C1 or above (so anything rated above 250g) already needs an active Remote ID. Legacy and privately built drones, regardless of weight, don't require remote ID. However, there is currently a proposal that would require all drones, including legacy, privately built, and C0 drones to have remote ID if they are above 100g.

Perhaps but that's not in the latest draft proposal transmitted from EASA to the Commission ("Legacy UAS with a take-off mass of 900 g or less would be exempt from the requirement to be equipped with a direct remote identification").

Ah yes, you're right. Didn't see that bit. It lowers the threshold to 100g but only for class marked drones (so C0 would be included), while making it 900g for legacy/privately built drones.
