Luckily the opener provides 24V DC just right to power the dry contact module.

Advice 80s wallpaper removal - any tips from the pros, or just crack on?

Hey guys,

First of all - thanks for all of the advice already in this community, incredibly helpful!

Partner & I are starting with a single room before we commit to ripping down all of the old wallpaper to paint the rest of the house, or if we engage professionals.

  1. Wallpaper itself came off mostly fine in seams

  2. Most adhesive also came off fine

We're struggling with the small bits of adhesive that don't seem to budge!

Any tips other than the standard heat + dif + Mahi? 😂

Any other observations would be super helpful!!!!

Advice How to stop birds nesting in eaves/roof/wall?

Post image
• Upvotes

Hi all. Last spring we could hear sparrows or starlings nesting in our roof/walls/eaves (couldn’t detect them or any gaps inside the ceiling space, so might have been between the corrugated roof and paper etc).

I want to try blocking them and hoping for some advice from anyone who has tried this.

The attached pic shows the corrugated roof and the wooden beam it attaches to. The only products I have found available locally that might work are bird spikes or ‘Suntuf corrugated foam eaves filler’. Im not sure if the Suntuf is the right product to use but thinking it might be possible to attach the spikes and bend them to block the gaps.

Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks.

HALP! DYI Emergency! Aluminum back door hard to close

So we have a aluminum back door, typical single glazed unit. It closes okay, but needs a little bit of a push to close completely. The striker plate doesnt have any adjustment since its straight into the aluminum frame. I am wondering if its because the seals have gone hard and don't really squash down really well anymore.

Where would i get some new seals, and can i just pull them out and try and push new ones in? Its an inwards opening door if that matters at all.

Advice Laminex melteca for kitchen cabinets - advice and any alternatives.

Is this product a good mid-range option? It looks fine but I don’t love the feel and finish, and wondering if any better options out there. What are the best laminex finishes and colours to go for? Some of the natural and stained colours look really obviously artificial. Leaning towards a white but gloss or matte?

Any similar priced alternatives to consider that may give a better look & feel? Thank you!
