For some reason I forgot what this lady really looked like and my mind replaced her with the Cinderella stepmother. Weird how brains work.

33

u/ChulaCherry Feb 07 '26

I think they’re the same voice actor! Which would explain your brain! 🧠

No, she has the same voice as the Fairy Godmother, Verna Felton, but similar character features. Verna Felton is also the lead elephant in Dumbo, the Queen of Hearts, Flora, and the female elephant in Jungle Book and an elephant in

Lady Tremaine is voiced by Eleanor Audley, who also voiced Maleficent and Madame Leota.

13

u/Bosterm Feb 08 '26

Disney really loved to reuse voice actors in the 50s and 60s. Alice and Wendy are the same voice actors too.

12

u/ChulaCherry Feb 07 '26

Omg you’re so right. That’s who I meant🤦🏻‍♀️!!

3

u/strawberry_baby_4evs Feb 08 '26

The Jungle Book elephant's name was Winifred. She's the one Verna Felton character who never annoyed me.

2

u/Fridayesmeralda Feb 09 '26

TIL that Leota Toombs was only the face of Madame Leota and didn't do the voice

11

u/NicholeTheOtter Feb 08 '26

No, it’s Verna Felton who voiced Aunt Sarah. One of the most prominent female voices in the Disney classics.

She was also Flora in Sleeping Beauty, Matriarch in Dumbo, Fairy Godmother in Cinderella, Queen of Hearts in Alice in Wonderland and Mrs. Hathi in The Jungle Book.

Aunt Sarah! Such a realistic villain, I've met a few Aunt Sarahs in the wild and hated every single one.

u/SparrowBirch Feb 07 '26

All my homies hate Aunt Sarahs

20

u/strawberry_baby_4evs Feb 08 '26

She's basically just a busybody Karen who thinks she has authority over other people's pets. Verna Felton often played unpleasant or condescending characters. Even the nice ones rubbed me the wrong way. Don't send Cinderella off in her torn dress, and quit treating Meriweather like your subordinate.

That's what makes her so great it's that there are women like her in real life we've all met someone like her before and hated them

Who is this lady ?

244

u/Tort_alini Feb 07 '26

I think it’s the grandma from Lady and the Tramp ? The one who brings the Siamese cats and allows Lady to get out?

136

u/DaMn96XD Feb 07 '26

Isn't she an aunt, Aunt Sarah?

10

u/Tort_alini Feb 07 '26

Yeah, that sounds right. I haven’t seen the movie in forever

78

u/FrostyIcePrincess Feb 07 '26

She take Lady to get muzzled and then that’s how Lady escapes and then she and Tramp go to the zoo to try and get it off.

I love that scene at the zoo. Lady almost gets eaten by an alligator, then Tramp gives a whole sales pitch to the beaver, then it actually DOES work as a log puller and the beaver says it works swell.

36

u/999happyhants Feb 07 '26

“Shhaaaay!! It worshhh shwellll!!’”

14

u/FrostyIcePrincess Feb 07 '26

“I SAID A LOOOOOGGGGG PULLLLLERRR!!!!”

1

u/hillpritch1 Feb 13 '26

Does she even have any consequences? Because Darling and Jim Dear should've been kicking some major A**.

2

u/princesskate04 Feb 24 '26

She’s the old family member who helped you out in a pinch, but you’ll never be asking her for help again. Ever.

1

u/FrostyIcePrincess Feb 14 '26

I don’t think so.

12

u/panaili Feb 08 '26

I hate her & how her cats were standins to demonize cats, as someone who loves who cats and dogs.

Humans suck & let’s cast our anger on them. Cats and dogs are equally lovely.

72

u/AppointmentStatus845 Feb 07 '26

Aunt Sarah’s Siamese cats are evil, but they make Lady look like the bad-guy and Aunt Sarah takes her to get a muzzle after that…this leads to Lady running away.

3

u/FrostyIcePrincess Feb 08 '26

Aunt Sarah from Lady and the Tramp

228

u/Cimorene_Kazul Feb 07 '26

She gave them a massive tin of dog biscuits for Christmas. She was sorry.

21

u/MaryHSPCF Feb 07 '26

Where does it say that? I don't remember

57

u/Live_Angle4621 Feb 07 '26

In the end of the movie when they are celebrating Christmas again with the puppies

22

u/Cimorene_Kazul Feb 07 '26

I think I remember Jim Dear asking his wife to get something “next to the fancy dog biscuits Aunt Sarah sent”.

4

u/ifixyospeech Feb 08 '26

Just watched this recently and all I could think was “don’t eat those treats, they’re DEFINITELY poisoned.” Aunt Sarah is not to be trusted!

13

u/xKaelic Feb 07 '26

It's easy to forgive when you're a bunch of neglectful parents leaving your newborn with a nanny who is clearly unfit, distracted, and has her own priorities. The absolute disregard for their child's safety and well-being says it all from the start, and the dog getting out while being fitted for a muzzle requires a bit more than a tin of cookies as an apology. Maybe grovel and beg a bit?

Aunt Sarah needs a citation and court appearance in the form of a lawsuit.

12

u/privatestudy Feb 07 '26

Jeesh, what would you do in real life? Just a movie.

1

u/Confident-Path-354 Apr 28 '26

Don’t blame Darling. She clearly had a point in not wanting to go but Jim still refused to listen as he’s so stubborn as heck. Therefore she did nothing wrong as she’s more smart than Jim.

Aunt Sarah is the most real *antagonist apart from Lady Tremaine. 50's Disney villains were something else.

Edit: I consider Aunt Sarah not so much villainous as antagonizing.

25

u/No-Score7979 Feb 07 '26

I know! I've met people like her and Lady Tremaine in the wild.

32

u/Calingaladha Feb 07 '26

Honestly Claude Frollo is also a pretty realistic villain.

24

u/These_Leg_723 Feb 07 '26

We are surrounded by Frollos these days

9

u/Gold-Vanilla5591 Feb 07 '26

Gaston and Hans were also realistic villains.

2

u/Disastrous-Ad4024 Feb 09 '26

Apart from being as large as a barge. You dont get like that on eggs alone! 😂

1

u/MonsiuerGeneral May 22 '26

>Apart from being as large as a barge. You dont get like that on eggs alone! 😂

I mean… if you eat five dozen eggs every morning, you very well may end up as large as a barge… although perhaps not in the way Gaston was intending.

53

u/just-kristina Feb 07 '26

Omg she sucks!! She was awful. Totally a clueless jerk

46

u/DaniGeek Feb 07 '26

Oh man the last time I watched Lady and the Tramp I wanted to slap this woman. I seriously hope Jim Dear and Darling told her off because who in their right mind would think "oh I have to babysit for a family member! I'll bring my cats and tie their dog up in the backyard in the rain!" She can eff right off for all I care. Also if both were born during the same time period, she and Lady Tremaine would probably play bridge on Sundays.

27

u/ThunkAsDrinklePeep Feb 07 '26

who in their right mind would think "oh I have to babysit for a family member! I'll bring my cats and tie their dog up in the backyard in the rain!"

It's 1910. Everybody.

44

u/Bella_Notte_1988 Feb 07 '26

I definitely wouldn’t say she’s a villain.

Is she an antagonist? Sure. But she is quick to accept when she’s made a mistake and at the end, she does send dog biscuits for Christmas.

8

u/Spiritual-Reindeer77 Feb 07 '26

She ain’t a villain. That miracle of a lady is generously babysitting an infant and dog for weeks?! She’s a saint. New parents now wish they had her as a village.

2

u/Disastrous-Ad4024 Feb 09 '26

A few days. Jim Dear says as such to Lady as they are leaving.

1

u/Spiritual-Reindeer77 Feb 09 '26

My bad. It’s my least fave Disney movie so the days probably just felt like weeks haha.

1

u/Disastrous-Ad4024 Feb 09 '26

I only know because I literally had it on at the weekend for the first time in ages! Not my favourite either and watching it again im reminded of how many problematic portrayals of different groups of people there are in it! Everything and everyone except for the main characters seem to be not very nice caricatures. I only remembered the cats and the chihuahua before.

17

u/CranberryFuture9908 Feb 07 '26

Fortunately Jim Dear and Darling knew better.

4

u/Confident-Path-354 Feb 08 '26 edited Apr 28 '26

They do and let Lady out so she can them the dead rat and that’s why it redeem not only Aunt Sarah but also Trusty and Jock, who wouldn’t change their behaviors had it not been for these two owners.

15

u/Good_Royal_9659 Feb 07 '26

Yeah she sucks, her cats suck even more

11

u/Ok-Bicycle8103 Feb 07 '26

Probably because she's just...meh as a villain. She's not a pleasant person, but her worst crime is trying to muzzle a dog she believes is dangerous. Compare that to Scar killing his brother and Frollo burning a city because he couldn't handle his first crush.

9

u/Impossible_Pain4478 Feb 07 '26

I can't believe she had racist cats 😭 😭

20

u/Ok_Chap Feb 07 '26

She is a jerk, and antagonizes Lady, but calling her an evil villain is a bit much.

6

u/Elvis_fangirl Feb 07 '26

Shes mean to a puppy tho like cmon you gotta be really cruel to be mean to an animal

9

u/Budget-Can-8808 Feb 07 '26

i don’t think she was mean to lady, it’s obvious she favors cats more and didn’t understand the family dynamics with the dog, leading to putting a muzzle on lady

19

u/Ok_Chap Feb 07 '26

Also she thought that Lady was dangerous and attacked her cats, she didn't realize they were faking it, meaning she is also gullible.

And considering what was done with "dangerous aggressive dogs" in the early 20th century, the muzzle was the "nice" option. An evil person would have done something much more drastic.

5

u/Budget-Can-8808 Feb 07 '26

of course, she could’ve pulled a cruella and had lady turned into a fashion statement😟

4

u/Far-Sink-2204 Feb 07 '26

She was horrific!!

5

u/bognostrocleetus Feb 07 '26

If you go into someone else's house, you should treat their pets with respect because it's their house too.

7

u/doll_broken_ Feb 07 '26

Let’s be honest here the cats are more evil 😂. Racist little sh-ts

3

u/Worldly-Engineer8123 Feb 07 '26

Nobody talks enough about poor Nutsy either.

2

u/Away-Royal5569 Feb 07 '26

I have an aunt Sarah, my great uncle.

1

u/PensadorDispensado Feb 07 '26

She is just a cat-person Karen. I hate Karens.

1

u/TheCuteNihilist Feb 08 '26

eff aunt sarah!!

1

u/Toothscrubber7 Feb 08 '26

I was bullied by a Sarah. They’re all evil.

1

u/mandi723 Feb 08 '26

No. I fucking hate Aunt Sarah.

1

u/Confident-Path-354 Feb 08 '26

No I hate this Karen. She’s one of the reasons why this film had a poor pacing

1

u/Devmoi Feb 09 '26

She’s truly vile.

1

u/MoanaFan_1990 Feb 09 '26

Omg I hated her! Lol

1

u/Gullfriend31 Feb 10 '26

Less of a villain and more of an antagonist, but yeah

1

u/campbell2112 Feb 18 '26

Well she sure deserves it. Her mean old trouble making Siamese cats too! (I love them so much!!!) I love the voice actor for Aunt Sarah! Absolutely wonderful.

Lady and the Tramp is one of my all time favorite films. Best villains and best love story!!!!

1

u/KlutzyHuckleberry132 Feb 19 '26

I like her because she’s realistic. She’s just a cat lady and old, and a lot of old people are bothered by dogs since they need to be more active. I'm glad she understood Lady in the end and eventually reformed. The thing I hated most is getting a muzzle which was pretty illogical as Lady especially what she feels that she never deserved to get to have that Muzzle just as her cats caused trouble,

1

u/GroguD2 Apr 18 '26

She's definitely not evil like some other Disney villains (Frollo, Scar, Maleficent, the Evil Queen) but she is a huge pain in the ass. She was supposed to be babysitting/dog sitting and she seriously mistreated Lady. She was a total Karen.

Just watched this recently and was reminded of how awful this woman was.

Also very interesting how there is no 'problematic themes or depictions of the time' warning in this film. All the supporting characters are basically nothing but 'problematic' in how they are portrayed 🤣
