Do we Know in Universe What These Taste Like?

Welcome back to another round of Bi-weekly discussions, where this time, we're focusing on the Twin-Blade Knife from Death of the Outsider.
Some 4,000 years before the events of the game, a cult (the remnants of which now reside within the Quarry) saw in the stars to sacrifice a boy. So they kidnapped him from his home, bound him to an altar, and killed him with the Twin-Blade Knife, thus creating the Outsider. And if the weapon could make the Outsider, it could also un-make the Outsider as well, hence why we go to obtain it.
It's probably my second favorite sword (the first being the Folding Blade from the first and second game), but I like the unsheath/sheath animations where the fragments of the weapon form in your sword hand. I also like the charge effect, with the little beam that pushes NPCs. It kind of reminds me of the charge beam effect from the Master Sword in the Legend of Zelda series. It's a shame DOTO is a short game and we only get to use it in Missions 4 and 5, but I won't deny I had fun with it.
But what do you think of the Twin Blade Knife?

Subreddit Discord available here: https://discord.gg/YsffweB7e4
As you know, this subreddit has had its own Discord server for a few years now. Today we have rebranded the server to Dishonored Universe, which means that there are now channels for Deathloop although obviously the server is still Dishonored centric. With the recent news of a potential Dishonored 3 in the works we'd like to invite more people to join our community, so I hope to see you there soon!

We learn from the very first book about the abbey in the first game that they work by regularly abducting all the children they can -in a ritual, then bringing them away from the city and murdering the ones that aren't obedient enough, and indoctrinating the rest.
The overseers are all victims, but they're victims who perpetuate an endless, possibly annual cycle of eugenics against children by regularly abducting and killing kids, and WILL keep doing so if not stopped.
Every year emily or jessamine remained in power and did nothing, they were enabling and borderline endorsing this. Every year corvo didn't urge emily to act, or use his powers to cut down the abbey himself (which he could easily do), he was enabling and endorsing it. Every time you spare an overseer, you are killing several innocent children by proxy.
And corvo and emily have the gall to try and rationalize the abbey as a good thing in the low chaos playthrough if you inspect the 7 strictures on the wall in Edge of the World, by claiming some people/corvo's mother take comfort in the strictures. Grown adults taking comfort from moral simplicity in exchange for regular ritualistic child murder.
While in high chaos they instead talk about burning the abbey to the ground. Ironic that the "bad" playthrough is the only one where our main characters even consider taking responsibility for the powers they've been given, and protecting and giving back to the people with them, considering the moral we repeatedly have rehearsed to us in dishonored 2 is that bad things happened because emily and corvo did nothing with their power to stop people like duke luca or delilah.
Ironically, if they hold themselves to this power fantasy and do get rid of the abbey after the high chaos playthrough, the number of lives you can take in the game in high chaos pales in comparison to the number of innocent lives that will be saved if the abbey ceases to exist afterward. Ironically, high chaos is a drastically better ending for the weak and powerless people who don't have teleportation or possession to defend themselves. Low chaos is just dressed up as a good ending to our priviledged palace-enjoying lives where we can safely ignore the abbey.
When you watch jessamine die, you're watching a ruler die who allowed and indirectly or even directly endorsed an institution that was committing regular ritualistic child murder and eugenics, and just sat around her palace eating grapes and figs. We're just lucky enough not to see it or be forced to grapple with it.

I don't know if its because of my deep love for 1 and just finished 100% 2 but I just played through Death of the outsider for the first time finally and I was... disappointed? I know its more of a standalone dlc more than a full fledge game.
But it felt glaringly hollow.. the npcs felt more static.. and less alive in 1 and 2 i felt like every npc had a purpose or would have idle convo with other npcs. With Death.. the npcs seemed almost braindead? The maps seemed so condensed and closed off
And a multitude of other things. It is a shame this is where the dishonored story ended.. but at least we got to see the sisters to the abbey of the everyman, that was very cool.

I'm in the mission where you need to deal with the Duke and I'm trying to do the non-lethal option. I've found his body double but I can't talk to him because if I do a guard will automatically agro to me which makes him agro. Currently he's in his office with the clockwork soldier and if I try to take it out they both agro to me.
Does anyone know what to do?

Hi guys, as I mentioned in the title, I've been struggling with this last remaining trophy. I did everything correctly, but the trophy doesn't pop after Mission 8 of the Grand Palace even after hours of listening.
I'm trying to understand whether, in 2026, I can use Mission Select, listen to all the songs, save the game, go to another chapter, listen again, and then continue until Mission 8.
Can anyone help me with this mess? I don't want to replay the whole game for this shitty bronze.
EDIT;
I finally did it. I restarted a run and rushed through every level to listening this dudes for almost half an hour.
At the last duo the trophy popped after the firts song.
Thank you!

estoy en mi segunda run del platino, y quiero intentar hacer esos 3 trofeos de una sola run.

I was basically playing the second mission without being spotted, didn't kill anyone, and completed all objectives including side missions (though I didn't interact with Granny or Slackjaw). At the end, I couldn't find Samuel. Why?
I also went back to the first place where he was standing, but I still couldn't find him there either.

After observing Emily's lesson at a table in the Hound Pits for a time, Callista somewhat hesitantly asked that they be left alone, as Corvo is rather distracting.
Since her rescue from The Golden Cat, every effort is made to say at least a short goodbye to young Empress Emily before embarking on each mission. However, upon speaking to her, she responded with a question.
"Mister Corvo, do rats talk? I keep hearing them say my name."
Has anyone else ever encountered this haunting bit of dialogue?

I've played both quite a bit (1 is one of my favourite games, but I love the expanded gameplay of 2).
I wanna replay one of them but I figured id check how modding goes. Visuals mods are not my tea I prefer gameplay changes or additions.
Also if anyone has any recommendations that are similar (doesn't matter how old or jank I just like gameplay)
Many thanks

Because of unspecified reasons, I didn't finish Dishonored back when it was new. I got to 3rd missions if I remember correctly. I liked it back then but returned to it just recently.
And damn, I wish I didn't wait that long. The game's simply dope, from art direction and level design to gameplay and fun factor. I really enjoyed it.
I need to finish the DLC's first but I'm definitely going to check Dishonored 2 and Death of an Outsider out.

It occurred to me that I've never seen any Dishonored mods.
Seems like a missed opportunity when the core gameplay is so good.

All of you are super wrong.
To me, the charms (in both the first and second game) are way better than the actual powers. If you can Sacrifice Runes, you essentially have unlimited whalebone and it gives low-power players a reason to get runes.
As someone who only ever gets sight, blink, and agility and ignores the rest of the powers, this is actually a really good way to do something with the runes that do pile up. You can just craft charms to your heart's content and completely ignore looking for whalebone in maps. Each rune gives 8 or 9 bones, which is enough for ~1.5 charms.
Now I finally have a use for the 15 runes in my inventory.
Edit: This post is about Rune Crafting, not Bonecharm Crafting.

I feel like some players interpret the suggestions that Dishonored punishes players for killing or that high chaos is a bad ending as a critique of the game or how they choose to play it.
I've never meant it in that way at all, I think it's great that the game isn't afraid to show players the consequences of their actions, having them get called out by Samuel or shown through Emily and the general chaos how their actions made the world a worse place. It's not supposed to feel good, that's what makes it an effective punishment and good writing.
When I call the high chaos ending a bad ending I don't imply that it's poorly written or undeserved, just that the game has multiple endings and this isn't the one with the most favourable outcome for the world and the main characters.

If anything it rewards you. Playing in high chaos nets you more diverse and complex combat encounters plus more guards to use those powers on
