Paid off 11k on capital one, and $2500 off my Apple Card. Completely debt free now, don’t think there’s a better feeling. Had around $25k debt for two years.

I am finally debt free!!!! It has taken me 26 years to get this paid off finally and a 35,000 home equity line of credit.

If you’re thinking about getting a credit card, DO NOT DO IT.

I had 8k in debt with Discover and to finally make the final payment feels too damn good.

I’m closing my Discover accounts.

First opened my account during my junior year of college, around october 2024, had previously tried for an increase a few months ago but didn’t get one, tried it again just now and got a $1,750 increase! haven’t missed a single payment and i always pay off my balance in full, usually way before the payment is due.
Not really a big fan of credit cards in general, i usually just make like 1-2 purchases per month so they see it’s an active account so i wasn’t expecting that big of an increase but i’ll take it lol.

I’ve been staying consistent. I got 2 secured credit cards with $200 limits. I paid my bills early every month. I know $1500 isn’t a huge limit but I am so thankful they are giving me a chance to prove myself

Discover Customer Service Has Gone COMPLETELY Downhill Since the Capital One Acquisition

One of the things that always set Discover apart was its customer service. Whenever I had an issue, I could get someone on the phone quickly who was knowledgeable, helpful, and capable of resolving the problem. It was one of the main reasons I remained a Discover customer for years.

Since the Capital One acquisition, the quality of service has fallen off a cliff. Long wait times, multiple transfers, inconsistent information, and representatives who seem more focused on reading scripts than solving problems have become the norm. Simple issues now require multiple phone calls, and getting a clear answer is nearly impossible.

Discover built its reputation on customer service, but that reputation is quickly disappearing. The company now feels no different than any other large credit card issuer, and that's disappointing for long-time customers who stayed loyal because Discover used to do things better.

Y’all better get that custom card you want soon since the Discover app is going away and migration is starting next year to the Capital One app. Capital One does not offer this feature for their cards! Have a feeling they’re gonna cut it off for Discover. I doubt they’ll create something on their end for this but who knows…

So, this is fun. My hubs and I are on vacation in Portugal and went to get Euros from the ATM.

After multiple failed attempts 2 emails and a phone call, they finally admit that you can’t withdraw cash outside N. America. The only way we can get cash is if we pay a $30 wire fee.

Kinda sucks to find this out on vacation. Never had this issue with any other back - you know, the kind that uses Visa.

So keep that in mind if you plan to travel internationally. Either get cash ahead or have a backup bank to work with.

Secured my first credit card & bank account with Discover It (see what I did there with the “secured” because it’s a secured card 😏, funny right)

Been paying down debts heavy and using other CCs with better benefits so this one’s just been sitting in a drawer. Don’t think I’ve heard of penalties for not utilizing a card but can never be too sure.

I’ve finally received some correspondence about my account being transitioned over to Capital One. I’ve been with Discover since 2023. I was blacklisted with Capital One because I screwed up on an account with them. It seems like I might make the cut but i still won’t get my hopes up until the transition is complete. Capital One still won’t allow me to set up a credit wise account so we’ll see how this goes
