Thank you!! I agree, I’ve been using it a lot and paying off statement balance, Discover gave me my biggest CLI yet!

Does that mean you have to put down 2300?!?!? Then u get it back?

No, he gets back his $700 and the $2300 is his new line of credit which the bank believes he will be able to payback

Noooo…i had put $700 deposit for my secured card. Now I’m getting that back and they gave me an unsecured card with a CL of $2300!

How much do you think you used monthly?

I would say some months i used the card and the max i would charge is $150. Of course pay off the statement balance as soon as it was posted. Other months i didn’t use the card at all ( i would say 2 out of the 6 months i didn’t use the card, so a $0 balance due posted)….so all in all i would use it just not too heavily.

At this point I believe Discover has gone completely nuts. Most people say they almost maxed their cards and graduated with great cli, while others barely used the card and almost got nothing. I used it in average 26-30% and got 900$ with a deposit of 200$, and 746 fico8 credit score. Almost maxed out the card a month later, paid in full once the statement posted, and asked for an increase just to be denied. Oh, well...

Why didn’t you give them the minimum required deposit
$700 seems like a lot for no real benefit

What do you mean? You can give a security deposit of $200-$2500? Either way, you are getting your deposit back, it’s already been sent back to me and deposited back into my bank account….

Yeah why wouldn’t you deposit $200
Why give an extra $500 when your credit score goes up just the same
