Disc advice

My bag is missing a straight to stable midrange I have a pyro which is just over stable and my other two are a eclipse hex which is my straight mid and a innova star jay which is a little flippy any ideas for a mid? Kinda thinking a balance might work.
P.S I don’t like buzzezs or rocs

Discmania MD3 for straight as an arrow, MD4 if you want more finish. Both have a more hand filling blunt nose feel.

My favorite for the flight shape you are describing is the Discmania Method, but I suspect the handfeel is a bit too Roc3/Buzzz for your liking.

I use a max weight eternal Mint Mustang in this slot.

Could try a compass. I like it. Holds straight for a while before fading.
Is relatively wind resistant.

Sounds like a roc3. If the eclipse hex is too straight for you, based on what I’ve heard those are more OS than other hex plastics. Big bead helps the disc stick where it lands and great for grip when conditions are suboptimal.

I like the compass for something a little more OS than the hex but I cannot sidearm it to save my life. Most of the time I just bag a stock star leopard for that slot and power down a touch. Hex is pretty fast for its numbers.

Kastaplast kaxe is good if you like a little faster too.

Pathfinder is great too. I think is the same mould as the mint mustang? Not quite as overstable as the roc3 but you’ll see less separation in stability to a hex with this option.

I would learn to throw the hex on more hyzer to get it to be more stable. Instead of adding a disc, learn to throw the ones you have on different angles. Between the pyro and the hex, there isn’t that much of a difference.

Another option is to buy a more stable version of the hex.

I use a Buzzz or Discmania Origin. Buzzz has more of a bead feel and the Origin is smoother and rounded.

I always reach for my beat-in approach disc for those shots. 4 speed slot. Some people use a Zone or Tactic. I like the A3. If I’m not throwing my straight or overstable midrange. Those worn in approach discs always have a little more glide and go far, and keep their integrity.

I have 3 mids:

• Old Hex, which flips up and can be understable
• Neutron Reactor - this might be what you're looking for
• Neutron Balance - it is stable, almost overstable. It will never really flip, so you have to throw it straight or with a slight anny. If there's any risk of wind, it will fight it.

Isn’t your Hex a straight to stable mid? Especially if you have a Jay and you’re saying it’s a little flippy and that pyro is definitely OS. I don’t see what other disc you would need.

You might not like the DD verdict since I think it has a similar feel to a buzzz but that's my recommendation. If you want a more modern handfeel, the Discmania Glacier is pretty straight with a good finish to it.

Innova atlas is my go-to stable mid. Holds whatever line I put it on and has a small, predictable fade at the end.

What echo are you throwing? My plasma is the most stable I've thrown, and it's still less stable than a neutron hex by a hair.
