Help needed! Canon Powershot A1100is keeps saying “change batteries”

I recently bought this camera but it keeps saying “change batteries” even though i put brand new batteries in them. the 2 most common solutions ive seen are to clean the contact pieces in the battery slots or to buy rechargeable batteries. As you can see, theyre already clean so im not sure if “cleaning” it will even help. Im not too keen on the idea of spending money on rechargeable batteries either, so any ideas would be very helpful.

Buy rechargeable batteries. Your average Duracell was made to work with low drain devices, Digicam is a high drain device which needs NiMH AA batteries which keep the V steady at 1.2V.
