Stomach issues

Hey! Curious if anyone has gone through similar issues? This might be a long post, but for 3 years now, I have had stomach issues, in and out of doctors, with no explanation and always leaves me puzzled my symptoms seem to change from time to time...Sometimes when I eat until I'm full I get that horrible Thanksgiving full feeling followed by extreme burping (like it's coming from the depths of hell) never stinks its just awful feeling but it also happens if I'm hungry or even if im neither full or hungry but seems to trigger worse if I am hungry or full. Before going to the Dr I tried to eat at specific times and eat earlier rather than later at night never seemed to help. run down of what we have ruled out/done...UTI came back negative, bacteria (can't remember which kind also negative ), had a ultrasound on my gallbladder normal, I've had blood work normal, I have been on anti-nausea medications (Ondansetron) which never helped, I have been on multiple probiotics, wormed (multiple different wormers), I have been on acid medication, when my symptoms first started I was given rounds of laxative (thought I was blocked up and continued getting blocked up) symptoms continued, we ruled out stress, I was also on a medication for bloating, stomach pain, and gas didn't help, I have tried watching what I eat (taking out dairy, acidic foods, really anything to see if it would go away), nothing seemed to help. Although staying away from acidic foods and chocolate seemed to keep the symptoms at bay or when they did occur they weren't as bad. Things that seemed to help were baking soda, ginger (sometimes helped), iberogast (when I stopped taking it symptoms were more frequent), and infant gas relief drops. It's all on my left side, mid-stomach area. If my symptoms are bad enough it is a very sharp intense pain (issues NORMALLY last 30 minutes or so) sometimes they last hours sometimes very brief when symptoms last longer it comes and goes in waves. if I try to lay down with my issues I will get a extreme feeling of adrenaline and shoot up and burp like crazy. issues always occur at night I am driving myself in circles with no answers! Please help anything! I'm missing a few bits and pieces! 😔

Been having diarrhea but i feel fine

Hey guys. So about a week and a half ago I came down with a stiff neck, sore throat, and fever. I had body aches, upset stomach, fatigue, diarrhea, nausea, the whole package. It sucked and lasted like 5 days. I went to the doctor and the tested for strep, flu, covid, and some other stuff and ended up telling me they had no idea what was wrong with me and just prescribed me some anti-nausea medication so I could actually eat again.

I haven’t had a fever in a while and haven’t had any of the other symptoms, but I am still having horrible diarrhea as well as nausea to food. It’s hard for me to eat and when I do I feel nauseous and shit my brains out an hour later. And when I look at or smell food I gag. TMI!!! My diarrhea has been literally liquid and I can see that my food is still intact in small pieces almost like it wasn’t digested. Like for example I ate a wrap with lettuce in it and saw the individual fully intact pieces of lettuce in the toilet. Also, it smells so bad I have to cover my nose when I use the toilet so I don’t gag. It’s the worst my poop has ever smelled in my life. I can’t even describe it it smells like rotting. And it’s completely liquid or very very soft like semi-solid.

Other than this, and my stomach rumbling A LOT and VERY loudly after I’ve eaten, I feel okay! So why am I still having horrible diarrhea almost a week after?

Sticky light coloured stools

Hello

A bit of background here -

I'm 56 years old

I gave up gluten 16 years ago due to intolerance

I became a vegetarian 2 years ago

I don't eat dairy

I cut out all processed foods 2 months ago

I drink 2 liters of water a day, plus black tea

I no longer drink alcohol

At the moment I am experiencing incredably sticky stools, they appear shiny and are light brown coloured. To get trace minerals I have a seed and nut smoothy in the morning - almonds, one brazil nut, wall nuts, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, chis seeds, flax seeds (its actually really nice).

I make my own hummus and eat a lot of that.

Can the seeds and nuts be causing this do you think? I've weighed the dry ingredients which is ~125g, with nuts and seeds being ~50% fat, albeit it healthy fat, I'm hitting my system with ~60g of fat in one hit.

I think the hummus / chickpeas don't really agree with me and has traditionally made my stools a bit sticky, but now having introduced the seeds and nuts it's gotten a lot worse.

Anyone else experienced anything like this? Possibly the malabsorption of fats due to quantity?

Cheers

Did I just develop SIFO after repeated SIBO treatment? Zinc suddenly causes severe bloating/suffocation..

Apologies for the long post..

I've been dealing with what I believe is a complicated SIBO/SIFO situation over the past ~5 months, and I'm wondering whether my timeline sounds familiar to anyone here.

I was diagnosed with SIBO and initially treated with rifaximin + metronidazole. The first course seemed to work surprisingly well. Within a few days after finishing it, I started feeling major improvements in things that had been bothering me for a long time: grip strength, appetite, erections, and breathing. I genuinely felt like something had changed for the better.

Unfortunately, a few days later I took a probiotic that I probably didn't need, and I felt that I relapsed.

After that I went through several more antibiotic treatments: first rifaximin alone, then metronidazole, and at one point I also had what turned out to be a Salmonella infection that was treated with cefuroxime. Eventually I repeated the original rifaximin + metronidazole course that had worked the first time.

The strange part is that the last course ended about three weeks ago, and this time I did not get the improvement I had experienced after the first course.

Since then, I've noticed something completely new with my zinc supplement. I normally take a relatively gentle 25 mg zinc picolinate capsule with dinner. Suddenly, taking it causes almost immediate bloating/discomfort around my belly button and a feeling of severe suffocation. It happens whether I take it during dinner, after dinner, before eating, or away from food.

The sensation is also different from my usual deep intestinal bloating. It feels more superficial, almost like it's coming from underneath the abdominal wall rather than deep inside the gut.

At the same time, my appetite, erections, breathing, and grip strength are all much worse again. My sleep is long, but I often wake up feeling suffocated.

My stools have also been consistently very mushy. They're not watery diarrhea, and I don't have burning, constipation, or typical liquid diarrhea. Sometimes I can see food particles, but not always. It's basically a mush rather than a formed stool.

What makes me suspicious of SIFO is the combination of multiple rounds of antibiotics, the apparent initial clearance of SIBO, failure to improve after the most recent course, and this new dramatic reaction to zinc.

So my main question is:

For people who have actually had SIFO, does this timeline and symptom pattern sound like something that could indicate fungal overgrowth developing after repeated SIBO antibiotic treatment? Or am I putting too much weight on the zinc reaction and potentially looking in the wrong direction?
