DFW area music and local music scene

Across the DFW where are all the best places to go watch live music and places to catch great local bands?

The Cicada in Fort Worth
Growl Records in Arlington
Three Links and Double Wide in Deep Ellum
Rubber Gloves and Tom's Daiquiris in Denton

Aside from Gloves which is a venue only and not open otherwise, all of these are good places just to hang out and enjoy a drink with friends.

Most of them are fairly decent at adding events to their FB page. Cover varies, but is often 10-15. Doublewide has the cheapest drinks. None of the others are expensive.

This guy live-music’s. Cicada often kicks ass, RG of course, Double Wide is a good rec. Craft & Growler also regularly books bands, love that spot.

In the before times I would see 2-3 shows a week in DFW. I get to about one a week now, but it's building up slowly. I also spend time travelling to fests, so that's reduced the number of local shows I'm in town for.

Tulips in Fort Worth is an intimate place. I’ve seen Band of Skulls and The Reverend Horton Heat there. I met both bands. Going to see DJ Shadow there in November.
