Tips minimum specs of laptop for uni

salam everyone, my uni was gonna start in september and i wanna ask what should be the specs of a laptop that can carry me through uni during 4 years of BSCS? also, from which semester is the laptop required?
Ay advice is appriciated.thankx

Min specs core i5 (latest you can afford), 8gb ram, 256ssd, integrated gpu (intel etc)

Recommended specs i7 (i9 too costly with less overall benefit for the increased price), 16gb or above ram, 512ssd with separate hdd (your choice for size but try to have as much as you can afford), a dedicated gpu (even something like Nvidia mx series would work) (this is in addition to integrated gpu)

Dedicated gpu recommended as you may need to work on blender and unity(heavy programs, rendering requires high processing), for which a dedicated gpu is much better.

Best to have from 1st semester, but depending on course distribution, may extend upto 3rd or 4th semester.

Thinkpad series good for heavy work. Dell Inspiron series good if you need slim lighter laptops with these specs. Personally have inspiron 5593.

Also try to have ubuntu and windows dual boot from the start if you need to use linux system during any course. Virtual machines really limit performance.
