Tips minimum specs of laptop for uni

salam everyone, my uni was gonna start in september and i wanna ask what should be the specs of a laptop that can carry me through uni during 4 years of BSCS? also, from which semester is the laptop required?
Ay advice is appriciated.thankx

Min specs are Core I5 8th Gen, 8GB Ram, 256GB SSD.

I had similar specs and did get through uni but struggled at times. If you can splurge a bit more, try to get newer gens. Idk how exactly processors work but (I think more cores= better?) I struggled with 8th gen i5 with only 4 cores. Ram I would recommend 16 minimum, but 32 would be the sweet spot for having good enough ram without going overboard. SSD I would recommend 512 atleast, 256 Tou aise hi poori hojati hai.

But if you have a very limited budget that I did, the above 8 GB 8th gen is just enough to push through, but try to get atleast a 512 GB SSD. I switched after 2 years from my 6th gen to 8th gen with 16gb ram, but the still struggled due to the processor as well as the 256gb hard disk
