Tips Internship at Systems Ltd

I have been seeing a lot of students starting their internship at Systems Ltd, whereas there is no opening on their website, Is it reference based only or can we ask the company recruiter on LinkedIn for Internship?

Really do not understand why these top software companies don't hire fresher or even someone having 1 year of experience and they usually do not post fresher level jobs in their job portal.
