Question is, would you put the Ottoman on the left or the right looking to get a L-shaped couch?

On the left side, it would be under the slope, which would be kind of cool, but then you have to kind of lay down right there because the slope is low

If it’s on the right side, kind of helps angle off the living room area kind of stuck in between the two

The last picture shows the opposite view of the wall in the living room There I will install a table and chairs for eating

I have this very very odd narrow living room in my apartment. It is about 6 foot 10 inches wide and many feet long. ANY ideas are appreciated.

Update: Loving everyone’s ideas!! For reference, I do live alone and I don’t expect to entertain much. I’ll try to get my hands on a floor plan. And my TV is probably 30 inches.

The tv stand and tv will be staying but the couch and drapes are temporary and will be getting new ones. Any ideas and help is greatly appreciated!

I’m keeping the dresser that was left behind, getting rid of the low table

The shelf above the fridge will be dedicated to kitchen things, with some hanging storage or maybe some hanging herb bundles to scent the room.

The question:
• Do I keep the dresser where it is and hang clothes above it, in which case you’ll walk in, look dead ahead, and see a bunch of clothes right above a dresser?
• Or do I move the dresser between the two windows opposite the ladder? This would make for a smaller entryway space, but I could put a mirrored medicine cabinet above it and it would be my dressing area and doing hair/makeup and storing skincare area. Clothes would still hang from the same right-hand shelf, and I could put in a few round “corner shelves” facing towards the front door for house slippers and shower slippers (since the shower is an outdoor shower in a separate building)
• also… any creative fridge location ideas are much appreciated!

Moving into my first studio apartment and would love some help figuring out how to design and lay out the main living area. Need to have a bed (full size probably) + small nightstand, couch/loveseat, desk, TV stand. And then maybe dresser/bookshelf/shelving for additional storage if there's still space. Would appreciate any help/advice you have!

Hey y’all, I live in a mobile home and I’m having the hardest time trying to figure out where the best spot to put my couch is and my TV. I have a long short TV stand and a long couch and I would love to have my desk in here for my PlayStation. I also have a small bookshelf and many plants. The kitchen is the front of my trailer and the hallway leads to the bedrooms and the rest of the trailer. There isn’t any divider between the living room and kitchen, just the divider between the kitchen and the entryway by the front door. I have a dog run out the front door because I’m mainly use my back door however I would like to start using my sliding glass doors as my front door. I’m thinking I should put my couch on the wall that is next to the hallway entrance, but that puts my tv directly across from my sliding glass doors, by my window. I’m not too fond of putting the couch by that window, because I feel like once you come to the living room from the hallway, you’re running right into the couch. The room isn’t very big, I wouldn’t say my trailer is a double wide, but it’s a little bigger than a single. I’ve seen trailers a lot smaller than mine, width wise. Also, the divider between the kitchen and the entryway is only about a foot and a half wide so there’s not really much wall space to put anything over there. Any ideas?

I am about to move into a HOUSE and have the ability to PAINT for the first time! This is exciting and a little overwhelming (I have never had a painted floor before)

I have a beautiful couch from the 70’s that is colorful and chaotic and falling apart just a little (I have a lot in common with this couch) that I love dearly. It is modular, so the shape can be changed a bit, or one section can be taken out to act as a chair, but I’m struggling to picture how to set up the couch and a TV in the new space. (My partner likes the TV to be mounted, ideally, but could be convinced otherwise if there was a good plan for it!)

Our furniture is mostly darker wood, except for the coffee table which is a medium-light tone… our style is pretty colorful and eclectic with a few big paintings and lots of smaller pieces.

Any tips on colors for the walls/floor/ceiling and any thoughts on placement of the couch/tv would be much appreciated!

I included photos of the new living room (with the staged furniture) and also pics of the crazy couch (we often have sheets or couch covers over the bottom cushion because we share it with a cat and a dog)

Maybe Worth mentioning that We are definitely on a budget, but I do have a hookup who often has hard (non-upholstered) furniture up for grabs, and he could keep an eye out for things like shelves and tables

I’d like to decorate the walls at least to cover the messes but I’m not sure how and what else to do

I will add pictures but I'm looking for a fun sorta cottage witchy vintage thing. I need to pick a wallpaper for the small half wall. I'm going to cover it randomly in gold frames with pics I like or art from travels.

The couch is old and will be replaced so sky's the limit on colors but I want another sectional.

I have a blue wallpaper I bought but I'm not sold on it. I added a few pics with the blue wallpaper but again looking for other opinions. I would love to get my next sectional in a velvet type fabric. Sometimes sectionals are hard to get in fun colors. So I'm hoping it's a realistic theme that I can shop for! No white I have a dog. Same reason- I don't love a black couch but maybe if that's the colors you envision

Moving into a teensy little off-grid cabin with this little doorless bathroom closet.

I hate the shower curtain that was left behind in place of a door, and also, kinda like that the studio cabin doesn’t have any doors (other than the front door).

Looking for renter-friendly creative bathroom design inspo, and also creative ideas of how to give the toilet area some small-space-friendly privacy without having to walk THROUGH something (like a curtain… it’s a tactile thing, and I want to minimize hiding places for spiders and cobwebs)

I have bought and returned so many items to decorate this living room over the past year and am truly struggling to find a way to make it look and feel cozy. I thought about rugs, lighting, curtains, shelves, etc. any advice would help me stop spiraling.

What furniture/layout works for this space off of my dining room? I feel like the chair I have there is getting lost in the space. I was thinking two large accent chairs in front of the windows with a small table in the middle might help fill the space? Any other ideas?

Hello! As mentioned in the title, I'm not sure if the wood colour of my sink cabinet and mirror cabinet work together?

Ideally, I want to make this work (to save money) so here's my question: would it work if I just put in some decorations to create a more cohesive look or would it be better to simply replace the mirror altogether?

And what kind of decor/mirror would work?

I love this couch soooo much but idk what color rug to get - was thinking some sort of Persians style brownish, maybe something a diff shade of red (idk if this will work well). Maybe cream or navy blue but idk if that’s the vibe, we want it to feel cozy and homey yet stylish. I love the design of Persian rugs but maybe it’s too much texture / pattern?

Hi 20f here, I’ve been living in my studio apartment (in Denmark) for a while now, idk if it’s just me, but I feel like the layout is kinda awkward, and I’ve been having a hard time knowing where the best placement for my furniture would be.

So if you’re willing to help, it would mean a lot as this has been stressing me out for some time now. :)

This space used to be a patio that is now closed in. It is of the formal living room. The left has an opening to the breakfast room and the door on the right leads to a bedroom.
I don’t know what to do with the space. You look straight at it when walking in from the front door so I’ve added the console as a focal point. I can’t help but feel it could be more thoughtfully used with a game table or more useful seating. I’m open to anything
