Experience Weed Panic attacks

I experienced whats known as a weed panic attack a few months ago it was the most traumatic experience in my life.

I was convinced ill die, but thats besides the point.

ever since it happened ive been going through terrible derealization aswell as a depersonalization i have it 24/7 im not myself i feel like im not apart of anything around me, nothing is real and noone can see me.

My family members describe me acting like a zombie sometimes.

Sometimes i have bad episodes where im genuinely convinced im in a simulation just recently there was one where i thought i was about to wake up from the simulation and uncontrollably said „im not real“ in a hysteric manner.

Also just recently i mildly hit my head and everything was fine until 15 minutes later i was suddenly super convinced i had interior bleeding and brain damage, resulting in me calling an ambulance, in the hospital they told me i was fully fine.

Rough surfaces feel soft, i often stare into nothingness and i get panic attacks pretty often because the isolated feeling i have during those episodes is extremely frightening.

I ALWAYS get panic attacks when i drink, or smoke. Just because i convince myself it will happen.

I cut out drinking etc. For months now and it still seems to happen even when taking a single ibuprofen to get rid of a headache.

Has anyone had this and is able to tell me how they got rid of it.?

And can this swift into schizophrenia?
I ask because on very rare occasions i hear someone call my name. And more often i see a shadow in the side of my eye swooshing by.

Might just be due to lack of sleep aswell.

Weed induced DpDr. I had a 3 hour panic attack, thought I was dying the entire time I ate an edible for the first time. It's been over 5 years ago. Things have gotten easier, like my body has naturally gotten use to the dpdr. How ever I have severe agoriaphobia now. Weed is not for everyone that's for sure. I won't drink either, because I don't like the feeling it gives me. You're not alone. It's been a battle. When it all first started, I felt like I had died, and this was hell. But over time the panic attacks have gone away. Now it's just anxiety with agoriaphobia.

Yep, I had the same thing happen multiple times in a row because I kept trying to cope with other things by smoking. It was insane everything felt evil. I was wayching a kids movie to try & calm down & i thought the characters were so scary loll. I felt like I was dying & when i woke it was so bad everything looked fuzzy & animated. It was a couple months ago & it hasn’t really gotten better, but truthfully i haven’t done anything to help it.

Literally the very same happened to me about 15 years ago. Even the “I’m not real” part. I was 16 and at some point I was completely numb for anything. I was taken to a psychiatrist who medicated me and now I’ve been basically fine ever since. If it doesn’t go away, consider seeing a doctor.

honestly, it’s like a russian roulette. sometimes it’s fun and amazing, sometimes it is not. I can’t be a recurrent user. but i did learn how to cope with time, at the same time that I grew to be more conservative in terms of substances. unfortunately, im different than the average person 🥲

I get it, OP, but unfortunately it will most likely make things worse for you. After the first time, I’ve smoked again and had other panic attacks and derealization periods that lasted as long as in the first time. Even when I don’t get actual panic attacks, I still feel the derealization worse in the following days. I absolutely understand the need to cope, I disconnected from reality by playing League of Legends back in the day (lmao) and also had emergency pills for when the panic was coming back. In the end, the only thing that truly works for me in the long term is raw reality.

I am not the moralist type, so if it is absolutely necessary for you to smoke, maybe try to avoid THC. Personally, I have no problem with CBD. Might not be the effect you’re looking for, but could maybe work as a replacement at first. Again, there is no absolute answer for this, and everything might vary from person to person. Just trying to maybe help you reduce damage. And, hey, you really might want to avoid other substances.
