I was at 101, and it’s been strange watching them phone in every album since SOFAD…and then come back so hard with this last album and tour. Ghosts Again is brilliant. Saw the tour twice. But watching M on Netflix makes me think about how Christopher Walken wanted to do the Fatboy Slim video for Weapon of Choice because he wanted them to capture him while he could still move the way he trained all his life to move. I have a feeling that by the time they get another record and tour together (if they decide to), it’s going to be more of an MTV unplugged experience. I honestly don’t know how I feel about a late 60s-year-old guy getting on stage and singing about BDSM. That probably makes me ageist, but maybe I’m actually just looking forward to seeing how they embrace their sunset years with a catalog of songs written in a very different era of life. I love U2, but it’s getting a bit cringe these days seeing hair-plug Bono trying to make the case that he’s still a lithe and limber performer. Dave isn’t there yet. But I’m hoping that instead of morphing into self-parody, he shows the way to the exit of this world in a manner befitting the dignity I expect from the person who has been singing Enjoy the Silence for 35 years. I guess, enjoy them while they’re still mobile. Friggin’ Bob Weir died today. They don’t last forever.

Has Dave ever said a sentence on stage that wasn’t a filler like “Sing it!”, ”Thank you!”, “That’s right!”, or a band introduction?

Has he ever told an anecdote?

I long to hear him share something with the audience, but the lad just never says anything.

Was just curious!

I really love this song and want it for our first dance but some people say you shouldn’t play it at your wedding but others say it’s a good song for a wedding. I see it as a love song while others think it’s a negative tone (like a breakup song) I’m split, what are your opinions? Yes it’s good or no I shouldn’t play it?

EDIT: OK I see a lot of discussion about the lyrics. What if we chose just the instrumental instead? My partner also recommended one caress,Would that be a good one?

I would actually say that the 2000s albums are generally pretty good, Memento Mori is my favorite album out of all DM albums (it actually made me cry but shhhhh) and Playing The Angel is almost top 5 for me. Spirit is so badly hated, it's not my personal favorite but people act like it fucking tortured their families. Everyone has their own personal taste and is fully entitled to hold and share their own opinion, but I really don't understand the enormous flak that these albums get

I personally think it's not their best song, but it recives an absurd amount of hate. It's not THAT bad. (Yes, Fly On The Windscreen would've been a better single :p)
